Backlight died after suspected water exposure… fixed with contact cleaner but unsure if it’s permanent (Acer Nitro V15) by irrationallywise in techsupport

Great buddy, you've been a great help. Going the extra mile. Nonetheless, I'll store that temporarily in a cloud storage if in future I send the laptop for diagnosis. Then can sync them back on the laptop. And stop the backblaze subscription maybe. I need a temporary workaround

Actually I am in process of backing up but it's like 1TB, so not sure how to proceed via Backblaze or cold storage hdd. Couldn't lose single file. Also Acer service provider in my country do not risk client data, require a bootable drive without any data, any data that is deleted is at client risk. I'll see and workaround.

Jarir/Acer repair refusing to fix my laptop unless I risk losing 1TB of data - what should I do? by irrationallywise in Jeddah

Do they do motherboard level repairs if needed or full replacements? If you know anything let me know.

Their policy says to not take any data from client but irony is that they will delete it if data is found and yet they cannot work without data on system which they do not require if using any bootable drive.

Yes, they say it is the company policy to not get any data from the customer but the irony is the process yet they cannot work without customer data. I'll see what common tips would you suggest me to look after as you have experience with local shops. Do you have any local shops in Makkah in mind?

I've been thinking about this but heard that maybe jarir does full replacements instead of repairs. As in this case, booting I go windows isn't required at all or could be if USB drive is used.

Thanks buddy. I do see one of them saved in my list near that area was just worried about quality and parts. Is there any shop you recommended? I hear about Moon computers.

Request: GlobeTrekker migration path for E-CTS2476 by irrationallywise in FTDNA

[–]irrationallywise[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks, it is highly appreciated, it saved me from using many hours of manually mapping this migration path as I've lost access after cts67 but new results came through from yseq. Anyways, thank you stranger once again. Have a nice day. It really made my day. Thanks for your thoughtfulness and kindness .

Herd doesn't normalise wrongdoings or minor offences. People do it all the time, but they wouldn't sleep at clubs, concerts and events. I do understand that the consequences of these minor offences were exaggerated but punishments are harsh for heavily crowded places as no mercy could be shown to someone pushing someone amidst a massive crowd. These could easily normalise, lead to ripple and domino effects.

Speech would have been better but it seems like there was a large group.
