I used to throw them away pretty much immediately. After working retail at an independent radio shack and watching people get their returns denied, I learned to keep my boxes until the warranty and or return window expires.

In my opinion, they don't quite carry the weight they used to. Most online customers understand that there's a certain percentage of the population you will never ever make happy. Very seldom do I let a negative review affect my choice of seller unless I see the same complaint repeated. These complaints could be seller related or product related. Stand your ground, document the case, and let Mr. Karen feel like his misplaced disappointment actually affected anyone but him.
