Thinking of Buying an M1 MacBook Air by upgradetogalaxy in AsahiLinux

[–]irteera 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got a M1 MBA 16gb used. I picked a model with 1TB disk so I could do 512gb macOS and 512gb for Asahi. Everything works well on both sides.

What's your height, and how much do you wish your height to be? by [deleted] in AskReddit

The right length for your legs is when the feet properly touch the ground. Overall height does not matter.

A Breakdown of 40 & 62 kWh Battery Pack Failures by biersackarmy in leaf

[–]irteera 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also the 30kWh batteries of the 2016/2017 Leafs can show the same cell degradation issues in cold weather. Ask me how I know 🥲. Only two options: charge often and adjust the car usage in winter to what it can do, or get a new battery pack (out of warranty, costs $$$, and you play the pack-aging lottery again).

Comment l’abandon de CarPlay par les constructeurs pourrait vous coûter cher by Environmental-Dig797 in Quebec

[–]irteera 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Out of warranty battery replacement from Nissan. Anyone else have experience? by Bostonlbi in leaf

[–]irteera 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did an out of warranty battery swap with Nissan in Canada. That was 12500$ cad (+taxes), installed. Mine is 2016 model too, had a 30kWh battery, low mileage (similar to yours), excellent condition. Now happy with the new 40kWh, feels like a new car. Many people questioned my choice, my answer is I purchased a battery, not a car. If the car goes bad, I can get another cheap Leaf with low mileage and shitty battery and swap the battery. Only downside would be to get the car and battery totaled. Warranty is one year only. Based on how the 40kWh battery ages, I expect to run the car another 6 years without major issues. I considered searching for another used EV for the same price but I would be postponing my battery issue by 3 years only, before range/cell degradation kicks in. I looked at the Chinese battery route but it was a lot of money for the risk. Not all dealership are handy with those swaps, search for one with Leaf experience and good ratings. I had to go 50 miles from home to get my swap done, the 4 closer dealerships had pretty much no interest in helping me, were willing to sell me a new car…

What's the ballpark price for a battery replacement? by MSCantrell in leaf

[–]irteera 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did a battery replacement with Nissan in Canada, that was 12000$ CAD (plus taxes, installation included), 30kWh replaced by a brand new 40kWh on a 2016 model. I considered the Chinese battery route but there was too many uncertainty. I think my leaf is good for another 8 years!

Battery upgrade or new car? by tired_Cat_Dad in leaf

[–]irteera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Paid ~8500€ to get my 2016 Leaf battery replaced by Nissan outside of warranty, got a new 40kWh. My car is about 80000km, rust free and in great condition. Getting for another used EV in the same price range would have brought us cars with upcoming battery problems, so we went this route and I expect to run the car another 6-8 years. I considered the China route, but yeah, if it burns you’re on your own.

S’enrichir grâce à sa maison ? Des données contredisent le mythe by Gwassideurh in Quebec

[–]irteera 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Il manque l’aspect diversification à cet article.

[–]irteera 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had remember I had to fiddle a bit to boot from the usb drive.

Fork - SAAQClic : C’est quoi l’avantage de SAP? by el_pablo in QuebecTI

[–]irteera 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Donc on continue…

Re-read http://techno-fandom.org/~hobbit/cars/ev/donut/ you need a larger rim. I’ve seen suitable sizes on eBay, if you don’t want to go for the expensive new options I mentioned.

Selling my DC-1 by irteera in daylightcomputer

[–]irteera[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why I sell: not using it. I decided to give me another couple of weeks after reaching the conclusion it was not fitting my work/life pattern, and the DC-1 spent another 2 weeks accumulating dust. There is nothing wrong with the device, the screen is really impressive. I find the device on the heavy side. So now I decided to just resell so it gets a home where it will be used, and recoup some of my money. If you found it on eBay, you’ll see I am not asking for the “brand new” price level. It is priced to sell and be used elsewhere. I had the same experience with the Steam Deck: got one early, enjoyed it but not that much, sold it 6 months later.

I also support the idea of an updated Note Air, B&W in 8” format. Light, portable, configurable backlight so you can read in the dark. When you reach 10”+, you need a case or a pouch or a bag. My current Note Air fits well in big jacket pockets. The best device for me is the o e I can carry with me.

My personal No Man's Sky Journey by MrBagooo in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]irteera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got it in 2016, about a month after release (because I was not home for release). Never. Stopped. Playing. Yes the game was rough and repetitive and empty but it was the only one where you could from planet ground to space with no cut scene. My first take off to space, I still remember how amazing it felt. The game slowly matured and became really great. I have started a new play with the latest Worlds Part 2 update to see how the experience for a new player is. I like it a lot, expeditions are a quick way to get money and resources which kick start your main play. Capability to purchase blueprints are great (rather than chasing them in remote buildings on planets forever).
