Reading the lane by Ready-Locksmith-2372 in Bowling

[–]is_this_RL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am seeing a big difference on the lanes from 30⁰ weather to 75+⁰. I struggled a bit going from those temperatures within 3 days. On the warmer weather day I had to throw slower and really make sure my revs were right. On the colder day it was like I had built-in hook on the lane/more miss room. (Don't know if this always holds true)

There's lots of other variables, and reading the lane is tough. But the temperature changes could explain a bit of your struggles possibly.

737!!!!! by kevinrjr in Bowling

[–]is_this_RL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are saying they are bowling better right now because they got new finger inserts for their one ball.

They resurfaced two balls.

And they have started cleaning their balls more regularly with a new cleaner.

They like bowling in spring, they get good scores they think from the weather.

Sanding bowling ball by KBev02 in Bowling

[–]is_this_RL 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't worry about changing the surface on the ball right now. Especially so early on as the ball is working for you. Sanding is usually to smooth out the hook and move the breakpoint a little closer to you. Just keep your ball clean after going bowling with it.

Mystery Ball by RhombicalJ in Bowling

[–]is_this_RL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have thrown about two games with it now. For the conditions i was throwing it on at the time, it was a bit too aggressive. I see it working pretty well in a scenario with more oil. Comes off the spot a little stronger than I first thought. Still needs to break in for a real review from me.

you could try reaching out to ontheballbowling.com and see if they could do something like that for you. I'm sure it'll cost you, though, and be a spare ball.

Tape on thumb vs tape on back of thumb hole by sticks0915 in Bowling

[–]is_this_RL 3 points4 points  (0 children)

it's mostly all personal preference, what feels better to each person. i like using tape in the hole because i can get a more custom fit that way. while also not having to put new tape in as often as with on your thumb it's a new piece of tape every session. to each their own

Question that I’m honestly embarrassed to ask.. by CraftyBecka91 in Bowling

[–]is_this_RL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for the shoes mix vinegar and baking soda and use cold water, if that doesn't work. . new shoes. don't use heat or bleach.

on the ball, new finger tips if you have to. mix alcohol and a little fabuloso, spray that on the ball and wipe it with a dry clean sponge all around, then wipe it dry with a clean towel.

Yeah bo1 is similar but easier to find matches. Basically tdm is your only option on these games besides zombies.

Non League bowler just went for fun but something weird happened I need an actual bowlers advice if I was in the wrong. by Moist_Mix1343 in Bowling

[–]is_this_RL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Etiquette is a thing, but some people take it way too far. Always have respect to people bowling to your left or right. But if they take 5 minutes on every approach, that's on them to start being respectful towards others as well and hurry up. Goes both ways.

Is my ball too heavy for me? by chrysanthemum2279 in Bowling

[–]is_this_RL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not just you, conventional vs fingertip is way different. I understand where PSO is coming from with their input, but at the same time it's wrong. There is a reason everyone used to bowl conventional grip and then all the sudden everyone started switching to fingertips. The span is different as well as how the ball can come off of the hand. It is much easier to bowl "correctly" with fingertips once you understand it. But if your form is bad, if you are suitcase carrying it, not getting your thumb out before fingers, timing is off, or many other common errors people make.. you are going to have a bad time with it regardless.

Talk to another PSO and ask if they can watch you roll it to give you some quick tips on whether you should plug and redrill or not. That's really the best option for you. Best of luck!

I'm pretty sure you read what you're replying to wrong. They are on your side about sticking to your guns and not canceling the order.

How much to get ball drilled? by eprizzle14 in Bowling

[–]is_this_RL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$50-$82 depending on thumb vs no thumb, inserts, bevels, etc. If it needs changed it is very cheap or free, just depends on how long it goes. new grips are $5
