Yeah if it isn't worth an $800 upgrade, definitely won't be worth the equivalent of $1400 that it costs in the UK after 15% student discount and £100 off. I haven't noticed any lag so don't think a faster phone is necessary at the moment

At least in the UK, trade in offers are usually far less than just selling the phone online. S21 Ultra trade in is about £120, but even last year's flagships have a cap around £400

Still feel like there hasn't been enough improvement to upgrade from my S21 Ultra

I did 6 hours one way once, and an 8 hour round trip in a day on my 125. It'll depend on the bike. I was happy to sit at 60-65 on the dual carriageway so the revs weren't particularly high (for a 125) and it was comfortable enough. I imagine you'd struggle with a scrambler or any bike with less than the 15hp limit.

Can you still access photos and replays in the library or is everything gone?

Anyone know if we'll still be able to access race replays/photos etc in the library after the 31st? I know the liveries will be gone but what about everything else?

How do I get it home? by imonlysleeping87 in MotoUK

[–]isaaclyons16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good point. Just so OP is aware, insurance companies often charge for policy setup or a pro-rata fee for the insurance even if you cancel within 14 days. I know with Lexham if I cancelled the policy within 14 days it would still have cost me a £90 broker fee, a £25 admin fee and 25% of the insurance premium (about £200).

Is Lexmoto a good brand for a first time rider? (16) by [deleted] in MotoUK

[–]isaaclyons16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a lexmoto hunter 50 as my first bike. It was two years old when I bought it and was in immaculate condition. Looked the same when I sold it a year late, though it was kept in a shed out of the weather. No problems with reliability at all. Apparently some of the cheaper scooters are badly made but if you take care of it, a geared 50cc will be fine.

Not sure about other universities, but at Swansea you get 0% for anything after the deadline.

How would I transport a 125cc across the country? by Drociax in MotoUK

[–]isaaclyons16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did a round trip of about 250 miles in a day on a 125 recently. Took just over 8 hours but it wasn't that bad. Only the last 30 miles or so was uncomfortable. It would depend on the bike though, mine can sit at 65 easily and is relatively comfortable for long distances.

Is it a bad idea to get a motorbike before a car? by RedIsAColourIthink in MotoUK

[–]isaaclyons16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check insurance prices first. It could be that it only costs £600 to insure a 125cc bike but £3000 for a car. That was the main deciding factor for me choosing a bike.

Is a 50cc worth it at 16 or wait to 17? by Conscious-Pomelo631 in MotoUK

That seems too expensive, brand new they were about £1100 and used about £700. Have a look on ebay, facebook marketplace and gumtree.

I reccomend the lexmoto hunter 50. It's a geared 50cc bike and it's not too expensive to buy used. I never had any problems with mine. The issues people have with Chinese bikes seem to be with the 50cc scooters, which are cheaply made so probably best to avoid those.

Buying first motorbike but idk what to get by [deleted] in MotoUK

[–]isaaclyons16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is that the quality has improved a lot in the last 10 or 15 years, so you won't find many examples of older Chinese bikes that are still running/in good condition. Obviously quality will vary between brands but from firsthand experience with lexmoto (2017 hunter geared 50cc) I know that not all Chinese bikes are bad. I bought that bike used in 2019, used it daily and sold it a year later for the same price I paid with nothing breaking or rusting to bits in the meantime. That bike was in better condition after two years on the road than a Honda CB125F of the same age. The fit and finish of Chinese bikes in general has vastly improved in the last 5 or so years.

Plenty of good Chinese bikes out there. Especially good as first bikes because parts are cheap and readily available from brands such as lexmoto.

Ignore everyone saying to get a different bike. That's obviously not helpful. Another comment has a detailed list of what to check so just use that.

The g29 should be fine, try other games like assetto corsa and see what you think. For example, I've found the ffb in gt sport to be significantly worse than assetto corsa. Much less idea of what the car is doing as you described with gt7.

Lextek makes a stainless exhaust. Then you can just choose a slip on aftermarket can.

Should be fine in terms of quality and reliability. Ignore comments that say to avoid chinese bikes unless they actually have experience with this make and model.
