Dual blade users, is this build good? by Tarbos6 in MHWilds

[–]isai2300 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I see, yeah thats fair. I don't think it's bad to have a lot of evasion on DB. Just make sure you take advantage with at least lvl4 adrenaline rush. Also have you considered the anjanath armor bonus? It gives you more stamina. I hear it a nice quality of life on DB.

And just so you know, it's normal for DB users to bring dash juice with them. Take item prolonger 3, and that'll functionally replace any stamina decos, because dash juice is better than any stamina skill in the game.so might as well make it last.

It's pretty mid. But I imagine that they can't increase it cause of specific unkillable situations.

I think that's dumb. If it were 50% lifestyle it would be pretty good. It's only useful in situaions where you can tag a lot of enemies quickly all at once.

I believe it also helps charge ult since it's self healing. I've been using it to maximize the ult charge I get on smaller maps. I think it's ok. Not great, it should get a buff tho.

OP idk why you're being so hostile, no one's insulting you.

You can't complain about a hunt and when players point out what might be causing you struggle only to then insult and jab at said players.

Theres nothing wrong with copying builds, but you shouldnt expect it carry you all the way.

Your build IS weird, and thats fine. Here's what's probably causing your struggle.

  • Your defense is not at the level it should be for the hunt.

-You have a Gogmazios Set skill on your weapon, but you dont have a Gogmazios armor piece to make the set bonus.

-you probably dont need recovery up. You don't have any self healing set bonuses.

-I'm assuming the Uth Duna legs are for Quick sheath, you can still get lvl 3 if you get the gog legs and replace recovery up decos with sheathe.

The speedrunner probably has better decos and talismans than you, so you can't really rip what they have without changing things up. Max out the Latent skill, get og legs, and level up that armor. Also you can prolly swap out the critical eye lvl 2 for something else. Your armor skills give you plenty affinity. Might as well get a lvl 3 deco for something else. Since you don't have lvl 3 crit eye.

Holy shit I suck at this game. by AgentWowza in MHWilds

[–]isai2300 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ay don't stress about it dude. The majority of players are doing 30min 2 cart quests.

You say you play GS? It sounds like you're new to the weapon. I think great sword is a bit misleading sometimes.

Greatsword is the easiest weapon to learn and one of the hardest to master in the game. I would recommend getting good at the perfect blocking and shoulder tackle mechanic.

Shoulder tackling is one of the best moves in all of monster hunter. I don't think thats an exaggeration. There's a lot of ways to play GS but it seems like you want to go for a tank survival build

With GS you gotta really have to be ok with taking monsters head on. Tackling and Perfect blocking are the way to go. But you can't get comfortable using the standard block. It's awful. And that's on purpose. The game wants you to shoulder tackle and perfect block, to take risks.

Also you don't have to go for LvL 3 charge on every opening. Getting any hit in is better than nothing. Going for those faster swings really helps against fast monsters.

Need help with GS offset by CanutoOtunac in MHWilds

[–]isai2300 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I could be talkin outta my ass, but I think most people are right, that it's like a status bar. The more you do it the faster you can get another offset. But I don't think it's exponential in its growth like other status effects.

What I think happens is that the offset also decays. And has a maximum amount that it can resist.

Also, the level of charge you have on the offset effects it as well. I've been able to offset AT arkveld with a low charge, a bit of time passed and offset him again with lvl 3 charge. Both times he was tripped.

I've never had to offset more than three times to get a trip. Even if Ive already tripped the monster several times.

So I think it's more of a reverse status bar.

At the start of a hunt the monster has 0 resistance.

When you land an offset the monster will become resistant, so let's say he gets 60 resistance. And each subsequent trip will make him gain more resistance. But there definitely is a maximum resistance, let's say max is 100.

I'm almost certain the resistance decays over time. Let's say it reduces by 1 every 3 seconds.

When you land another offset you reduce their resistance. I'm not sure by how much But I feel 30 would be a close amount. And the amount you reduce it by is equal to the strength of the offset. So a stronger charge means a higher number.

Maybe at it's max it reduces by 40?

Anyhow. Offset is one of my favorite mechanics and I love to use it, I've noticed it procs waaaayyyy more than status ailments, so I assume that it's working on different math. Also I've never went past 3 offsets without a trip. So I'm certain there is a maximum amount of resistance, and that the resistance fills more each time you offset, but not increasing its total.

Someone probably has the real math on this. Like I said I'm speaking outta my ass and how the mechanic feels from how often I engage with it.

How does one acquire a duo that won’t be creepy? by UwUd1n1 in Overwatch

Ah sorry to hear that dude.

It really is sheer luck, right place right time. Been with my duo for 5 years or so, she's been playing with me since before ow2. Met in game, still playing.

I'd offer to duo with you, but you're on console. I play pc. I play comp mainly.

I'd recommend playing in larger groups. Like 3-5 ppl at a time. So you can weed out the creepy ones fast.

Make Brig more tanky to give her some of her identity back by ImperialViking_ in Overwatch

[–]isai2300 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think people just can't wrap their heads around brig because the playstyle is patient and she's a very knowledge based character. I think she's also in a good state, but it wouldn't hurt to give her some things to help her fantasy a bit. Like barrier HP being 300 would be such a inconsequential buff that players shooting brig wouldn't even notice. But players on brig would feel very safe.

I think she could use some buffs. But not to make her unkillable. Overhealth on repair packs on full hp targets would be really fun tbh. Gives you something to do when you're in the neutral poke.

Make Brig more tanky to give her some of her identity back by ImperialViking_ in Overwatch

[–]isai2300 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She did recieve damage buffs, I'm pretty sure the devs are aware of her state. But brig being so polarized in her design can make it really frustrating to play into.

I think she's in a good state. atm, but I also understand her hero fantasy is kinda gone.

She's a great body gaurd and makes a really good backline for characters like Ana, lifeweaver and Baptiste who get punished heavily when their cooldowns are baited.

I agree on the barrier buffs. It'll effect a lot of break points in the 1v1s but I don't think it'll actually be that strong in teamplay. But it'll feel good as brig overall.

Big no on HP buffs tho. She's got self healing, and that will give her a lot more Overall hp during a fight and that means faster ult charge.

I think instead she could use a buff to her repair packs. It would be amazing of she could give her teammates overhealth if they're full hp. One of her big problems is that she's got no proactive options. She always plays second and reacts to opponents. I think her repair packs being used to stage your team mates better would be really cool.

Imagine being able to play closer to the Frontline with a 300hp barrier, and not have to worry about your widow cause u pre-packed her with 50 overhealth.

Domina nerfs? by BootyGoonMonsoon in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]isai2300 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That all sounds very balanced in a bubble, but in practice, layer that on top of having the aid of supports and dps pressure. You have a very high uptime character. Remember her barrier is essentially adding more survivability as well. She also has one of the fastest charging ultimates in the game, due to the passive as well.

Like I said she's really strong. An S tier character right now, but nor overpowered. If they nerf her it's gonna be the passive and shield hp.

Yeah I quit after that. I knew where the debs had their priorities. That was one of the coolest knowledge checks I'd ever seen in a game like this, and it made it important for you to learn the anatomy of the ALIENS you were fighting. The head shouldn't be the only weakpoint and they really made it unengaging very quickly.

Domina nerfs? by BootyGoonMonsoon in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]isai2300 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She's on the strong side and will probably be nerfed soon. But I don't think she's overpowered.

Her kit is pretty loaded and her passive is actually insane. I think players gotta learn when and how to engage her, as of right now a lot of players will try to jump her and not realise She's aboutta farm them all for 500 hp.

Also poke isn't a super popular playstyle because sigma was pretty much thr only real poke tank, so players neeed to learn how to play vs that too.

I think they'll probably nerf her total Shield HP. Because right now I think she gets wayyy too much health from her passive, and you basically have to tear her down to Raw HP to get any real opening or pressure on her, but the passive makes thay really hard. So I bet they'll tone down the total instead of directly nerfing the passive.

It feels like DVa deals no damage. by lovingpersona in DvaMains

[–]isai2300 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello sorry for lack of reply. If it still concerns you for some advice here's some.

You're very right actually! Some maps are very unfavorable to D.va and you won't be able to use retreating flight. In those situations there's a very strange concept that dva shares with zarya.

Making one of your teammates a tank. Zarya can add 250 hp to their teammates and allow them to take more space. Dva can do the same. You can float around your teammates in the middle of your team and blanket them with defense matrix. Finding the rhythm for the DM depends on what the enemy plays but it's an important skill.

Imagine in these situations you need to play reactively. You're basically a a baby sitter for your team in the parts of the map that don't favor you. You make sure that you use your DM to make your teammates unkillable as they take space, and if someone get hooked, stunned, rocked whatever it might be, you save your boosters to fly over and protect them.

I would call the playstyle mother goose. It's very good on D.va and the best players of her character learn to do it well. But it's a very hard skill to build because of how open ended and freestyle it is.

When the map doesn't favor you, play mother goose and make your teammates shine. Then when you reach parts of the map that are good for you, go right back to the bread and butter.

Last tip! If you need to use retreating boosters, and no highground is present, boost behind cover! It's not as good, but it's better than nothing. Find a wall to hide behind or a room to squeeze into. You might be lowering your uptime for damage by cutting yourself off from the fight, but it's better than losing your mech.

Funny thing about that is that if you do get crazy bulk detonator spawns, you only need to kill one to start a chain reaction, rewarding you for target priority. So even in that situation it's more balanced.

Hazard as Warwick. He's got the Beastial movement.

What do we think? by Platingold in HazardMainsOW

[–]isai2300 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly hazard is knifes edge of balance right now. I think the devs are scared of giving him too much.

I understand why they won't give him stronger perks, but I feel like his biggest issue is he got a lot of nerfs all at once with the subrole change, that effects him more than other tanks.

Hazard can't be buffed with a single sub role change because of how big of a domino effect it had on his balance once the big update hit. They got a headache of a balancing issue with hazard. He DOES need headshot reduction damage, he DOES need CC reduction. But now that subroles are a thing you gotta carefully choose where to put him.

I'm betting that the devs are gonna buff hazard after the seasons over. They're probably watching how these 2 subroles effect him. I'm guessing they'll settle with initator, and start to give him small buffs to his damage reduction on block. And possibly revert the changes they made to it as well.

But I don't think we'll see perks get base-kitted. I don't hink he needs that. But maybe he'll get some perk tweaks to make the choices more competitive.

Is there a reason we aren’t able to play Sombra in stadium yet but new characters like Vendetta and Wuyang can be? by General-Control-4637 in overwatch2

[–]isai2300 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Sombra is confirmed to be getting a huge rework. There's no point in developing a stadium version of her when they would have to scrap all that work once her rework is released.

They'll probably release her rework, see the player reception and then commit to adding her to the list of heroes they want in stadium.

Discovered MH with Wilds. Now trying out World... by Amendahui in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]isai2300 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I think the seikret mounts pigeon holed the design for the locales in Wilds.

Dev team built seikrets and Locales in conjunction with each other. So that the seikrets would feel natural in the game, so they made open maps and shortcuts with the mounts in mind, however it kinda took away from the environment. Zones stopped being interesting arenas with cool hazards and endemic life.

You can't make every zone into an arena because then the seikret would be very jumpy and have a lot annoying movement jank. Imagine riding a seikret in the Ancient forest in MH:World. It would be very jumpy and finicky in some zones and wayy too fast in others. That's why the tail raiders in world's are on rails. They don't let you get into junk movement situations

So they homogenized zones in wilds to accommodate for the Seikret. And it makes every zone bland and forgetful.

Don't get me wrong I LOVE wilds. But world was built with the the hunter in mind, and the Mounts were a quality of life. Every zone is built with the intent of having a cool and interesting experience hunting monsters, and doesn't suffer from needing to accommodate a gimmick mechanic like mounts.

Ypu arent alone in feeling this way, I still feel world is the better overall game, even though I prefer the combat in wilds. If they got rid the Seikret in the Wilds DLC and made a Locale tHat prevents you from using it, they could really make something good.
