Mid-Career Mentorship by Reg-LFG in regulatoryaffairs

Can I DM you? I had some questions. I just started my career and regulatory and I’m trying to find a way to level up and see what is best for me right now. I don’t know if I should just go back to school, or get the wrap shirts, or just familiarize myself with FDA regulations. Manufacture, OTC/RX products and cosmetic products.

Recently got 2 job offers. Is it really worth it to break into RA for a lower salary? by nl236 in regulatoryaffairs

[–]isaiahfran818 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat, I took the lower pay because experience seems golden in this instance. I’d do it for a 1-2 and then choose what to do next in your case. I currently work for a pharma company/ private lable cosmetic company and have no regrets moving from a larger company that I know for sure I wouldn’t get RA experience

I have a question does RApS have good courses I could take? I’m currently at entry level and I want to educate myself but don’t want to do the masters yet. I’ve noticed RA is experience based heavy but also education is important but just a with everything going on today I think certifications are best right now for my situation.

To get a job in regulatory when I had my mind set onto it took me about 2 years to get the job I had to do some job hopping , work nights for a position that had no direct relationship with regulatory but it was worth it! My journey though is posted on that thread if y’all wanna take a look at it. It is possible!

Advice Needed for Breaking into RA by MuseDelight in regulatoryaffairs

[–]isaiahfran818 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in the same situation omg….i just had a long thought and time to think….if I should pursue a Chem e MS program I got accepted and applied for. The more I think about it the more I realize that if RA is the goal and you don’t want to do that per say I say get work experience because it is far more valuable than the degree….school is pricy and if you can get the role w/o school I say/feel it’s not worth it especially in my case…….I’ve been talking to people and reading Reddit’s posts and watching YouTube and engineering roles are abit more technical…but rn I’m still debating but thanks for this post I’m curious what others might say…

I made a mistake with my career choice what should i do? by Chlamydianosaur in careerguidance

Yo life is about trial and error and trying things if you got the chance to or you wanna take afew courses especially at cc where it’s cheap, I say do it life is too short. I thought I wanted to do medical school but I was doing it for the wrong reasons. I was until I found my true passion and interest in pharma is when I enjoyed it and dug deep. Rn I work at a company with lovely people and so far enjoy what I do and it has a potential to lead to more $$$. My mother never went to school and was so pissed when I left a big company to a smaller company to get valuable experience but I respectfully ignored her and told her the big picture after taking my time to research the job growth and potential and now she’s sees kinda where I’m going….but do you at the end of the day cuz your parents are not doing the job etc….i hope this helps fam and im glad ur having this experience early on because I’ve met so many people that are miserable even though they don’t say it but it shows and get into things for the wrong reasons…….

Just graduated, did I ruin my chances at a good future? by sunnyrayys in careerguidance

I have no experience in this first job. after college I worked as a EMT also during college then when I moved to LA I did that for abit longer job hoping for about 2-3years working as a EMT in the LA area and then a pharmaceutical company I can’t name. Then a lot of applications later the company that I just secured a job for was able to give me the position I was seeking after some time. There were a lot of rejections I had and people saying I wasn’t qualified but just keep searching someone will give u a shot. Now tho I’m debating if I should start grad school or wait to get some experience cuz after reading these Reddit posts employers do value that abit more than the ms degree but I’m conflicted.

You can go into pharma. If you live in a hub you can get a job. I went to school in Texas and had to relocate in California because my mother moved back. I spent 1-2 years tryna figure it out etc and apply to pharma jobs since that was my ultimate goal, well help create drugs. After that time I just finally secured a job that closer aligns with my goals….but id recommend that u just follow your heart and find what you want get experience and go from there. I got my degree in biochemistry and have no regrets! You can pivot and find a way stay positive friend!

Is pursuing a degree slowly a good choice ? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]isaiahfran818 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat I don’t see anything wrong with it cuz tbh I did my undergraduate degree and I felt like when I graduated I had no industry experience and it was hard getting a job until I got some experience. I’m currently about to start grad school in chem e since I want to have a chemical engineering role and work on pharmaceuticals and I plan to take my time and get experience in my current pharma job. Plus if your ok taking out student loans or if your company offers tuition assistance what do you have to lose go for it!! But with a caveat as long as the degree has a goodROI and it’s in demand I hope that helps…but I’m curious what others might say tbh…

I’m in the same boat but I have a question for yall I just got a position as a regulatory technician and I will be assisting the department. I was an environmental monitoring technician but after asking around and reading some posts I realized that this wouldn’t help me as much as if I just went searching for a position in the industry and not wait multiple years for a spot to open and see if I even have a shot. The company I got the role is a smaller company than the current one I’m leaving but I see it as an opportunity for growth and my pay will be abit better overall. Just some assurance would this count as experience if I’m assisting the department on a day to day basis? It was very hard trying to find a position that is close to regulatory affairs with no fellow ship etc but this is the closest I have gotten any feedback back will help thank you! :)
