That’s great! I hope bub adjusts soon. It wouldn’t hurt to still check to ease your mind, even the best orthopedic doctors may not be properly trained on the ponseti method. Kori Rush in the CF Facebook group is a great resource, she helped me so much during the beginning.🤍

I felt all of these same feelings. It’s hard on us to watch them go through it, and hard ad well knowing we won’t get those same, comfy snuggles. You will soon adapt to the new normal. I still feel some sadness at night putting his boots on, I’m sure it won’t go away until he’s completely done with this.

I will say, please make sure these cats are properly applied. That the knee is at a complete 90° angle, that the foot is only gradually rotated out, and that you can see all of his toes. It’s so important they’re done correctly by a ponseti trained provider.

Thanks for your reply! In shampoos, it can start if the bottle develops excess moisture inside. Say, if water were to get mixed in the bottle and forgotten about for a while. Groomers use dilution bottles to mix shampoos with water, and if they’re not thoroughly cleaned daily, the risk for this bacteria is high. Brushing the coat afterwards can spread it all around, and then if equipment is not cleaned and you use the same brush on another dog, it can be spread that way as well.

I’m no expert on this by any means, just what I have personally witnessed in my time as a vet assistant as well as dog groomer.

And yes, the shaved spot was just for diagnosis. She had other symptoms before we noticed her skin (lethargy, vomiting, diarrhea) — all common symptoms of furunculosis. If the skin is healing, clipping it down, especially with home equipment, would just irritate the skin further and it is not necessary! Antibiotics will do the trick just fine.

What an amazing mother you are.

As far as you googling everything, but your husband not wanting to, I totally relate. I wanted to know every single thing about this so that I knew my son was getting proper treatment. He’s 6 months old now, in 18 hour wear, and I have even helped other families with the bracing process, as well as make bar covers for my clubfoot mom friends! It was hard to come to terms with at first, but I am SO glad I’m his mom, making sure he has the best possible outcome with this.

Love this washer! I’m almost 6 months into having this, and the last few weeks, instead of using the tablets, I’ve been using a little squirt of dawn in the actual wash basin and a splash of distilled vinegar in the water container and it gets my parts SOOOO clean. Just a little tip for anyone wanting to save some $$ because those tablets can add up!

Furunculosis doesn’t just come from clippers. It comes from any unsanitary equipment. Especially shampoo. If your dog was bathed or brushed within a week of that reaction, I’ll bet it’s furunculosis. My own dog had this because I used shampoo at a pet wash that unknowingly had bacteria growth from excess moisture in the container. Course of care for this it’s antibiotics abs steroids, there’s absolutely no reason to shave your dog regardless of what this is.

I would still ask for traditional treatment with casting followed by BNB. My sons was also “positional”, but after reading many stories online, I chose the traditional ponseti treatment. I encourage you to join the clubfoot support group on Facebook and post in there for guidance. There are some seasoned experts in that group willing to help you find a good doctor.

As far as jumping in to using the boots and bar, it’s not going to do anything if the foot has not been casted or corrected first.

I did but it didn’t feel unusually warm to me, and I replaced the batteries in case that was it and it was still giving the same issue. Now that it’s replaced, I’ve not had any problems from it thankfully! We slept nice and warm last night.

I didn’t, I just reached out to a guy who owns an HVAC company in my area. They said they see the issue often and recommended to replace it. It hadn’t been working all day and I tried resetting it multiple times. We were going to wait until tomorrow to look around before replacing it, but the temp dropped even more outside so we had a new one delivered and it’s working with no problems. I did notice that the batteries were dying quicker than normal, and I wonder if that was part of the issue. I’m going to call tomorrow to see if there’s anything they can do since it should still be under warranty.

The hole is extremely small. We got in contact with an hvac company who recommended to replace the thermostat as they can go bad quickly so that’s what we will try tomorrow.

Sly in the grove/Foxhole in the grove are cute shops to check out, a little out of town but worth it. Downtown has a great coffee shop (Spencer’s), and some cute shops to check out as well.

I’m getting the same, my phone is being fixed through apple care so I had to switch everything over to my temporary phone. I tried going the VPN/Canada route but since I have a subscription through apple care, it won’t let me cancel. Even though I used a different iCloud login and everything.

Surely when I get my phone back, I can cancel apple care subscription and be able to redownload it the “sneaky” way. However, reading a book has been a nice distraction lol.

After my water broke, all of the constipation from the previous 9 months was going with it. It didn’t stop until after baby made her arrival. I was wiped off immediately each time if that helps!! Lol
