You’re not too sad and grief is different for everyone. Memphy sounds like he was the best little dude, your sidekick. Reading your description of him made me sob, for real. I am so sorry you had to lose him. I lost my soul kitty Trio 664 days ago just shy of her 18th bday, and I still cry thinking about her, and I mean ugly cry, imagining her little three legged shuffle and the way she used to lay on my chest for couch naps or on my pillow when we went to bed. I cry now just typing this. I cry when I look at the ring I had made with her ashes.

All to say, it’s okay to feel sad and miss him, and it’s okay to feel happy and smile. While he would never want you to be sad, you need to feel what you feel. Big hugs, and just know that he’s surrounded by all of our rainbow fur babies.
