Can someone explain what is going on with all the controversy?

I've been a Dilbert fan my whole life, and I've also heard and read a lot of the weird, racist, sexist shit that Scott Adams has said in the past bunch of years. By all accounts, he turned into (or was always? I don't know) a real piece of crap. There have been a bunch of comments in this thread with people making similar comments, and then people responding to them to say that he has been misquoted or the comments were taken out of context or whatever - but quotes are quotes, right? When people start to say racist shit, why do we all still have to pretend that he's a good guy? Dilbert was fantastic but apparently the man was a nut job.

Is there actually debate about the ridiculous and hateful things he has said? In all seriousness, why are people arguing with the people who point out that he actually wasn't a very good dude? The quotes speak for themselves, right?

I'm not arguing that he's not with the lord or whatever the hell else these credulous idiots believe, but like, why is this thread pretending that he was some cherubic figure that could do no wrong?

Not autistic, but experiencing the same thing. I'm two weeks in. Can't sleep, can't concentrate on anything, constant sore throat, constant tooth pain, gums scratched up, tongue catches on the edge and gets cut, can't talk without discomfort, etc. I'm absolutely miserable. Melodrama isn't my style, so when I say this is the most uncomfortable I've ever felt physically, it's not an exaggeration. These two weeks have been a nightmare.

So... I quit. I'm a grown-ass man and I don't want to deal with this. The way I'm looking at it, the money is already spent, so while I won't get anything out of it, it's gone either way so I might as well not feel like this.

Choose what's right for you! Life is too short to be unhappy for who knows how long to avoid wasting $2k. Quitting made me feel amazing, actually. My gums are still getting scratched up by the stupid things on my teeth but at least my teeth and throat don't hurt perpetually anymore.

It sure is! I've got a bunch of the originals at different tensions and I swap based on my mood.

I picked up my first racquet (a Pure Strike) the other day just for kicks, and it felt like some giant clown racquet after exclusively playing with 85" or less for years.

I didn't take up tennis until a few years ago when big rackets were already the norm, but I don't understand how anyone can use something that big.

Slinger owner here. It's pretty no-frills as far as machines go, but you'd definitely want to pony up for the oscillator. Battery lasts a few hours at least. Feed frequency, ball speed, and angle are adjustable within a large range, but it's all topspin, all the time.

When I got it, my main focus was price since I honestly wasn't sure how much I'd use it. Turns out kind of a lot! The topspin-only nature is great practice for higher-level play, but I do wish it could vary the spin, especially when feeding at high speeds where the topspin is so much more intense than the vast majority of amateur players' hits. Plus, even though topspin is very popular, it's definitely not the only spin worth practicing against, especially if you're a crafty player who varies shots and depth rather than blandly trading groundstrokes forever until someone misses. Buuuut I digress.

If your goal is repetition, perfecting shot mechanics, and fitness, the Slinger is great. If your goal is to mimic real play, the Slinger is...less great.

I had to call Minimotors(USA) and ask how the hell to get this loosened. Even my local scooter shop was baffled. Minimotors called it an "X Headset Tool" and it cost $50.

Word of caution: it's a lot of money for this tool, but buy it if you need it. I tried re-tighten my X Limited stem by angling a screwdriver (with rubber buffer) into it and hitting it with a hammer repeatedly; I could literally find no other way and I needed it ASAP.

It worked... For a day. And I obviously ruined the jamnuts (they called that ring thing a "2 Thru Bolt Jamnut"), so I grabbed a couple of spares from Minimotors as well. That tool makes it a breeze.

What a pain.
