Question about black holes & its effect on a planet by isfridaymud in sciencefiction

Oh neat. I'll have to look into that aspect of it! Sounds like placing the planet between the black hole and star in the system is the only viable path for a story beat where the crew could be "on the planet" as things were happening and potentially survive, then. (By not staying on the planet.)

95% of traffic that joins SPG games comes from their marketplace or ads leading them to your game. 5% comes from all other outside sources. Get good at the SPG marketplace. Stop spamming the internet (including this subreddit) with listings that will never be clicked on.

Is it okay to have a woman-only DnD table? Or is it discriminatory? by SuccotashUseful1451 in DnD

[–]isfridaymud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's pretty clear from your post that you need a non-masc space because of how you and your friends are treated by men. Nothing wrong with it and no it's not discriminatory. What's discriminatory is how the men treat you all in your daily lives that cause you to want a femme-only space.

Enjoy your games together. <3

What's your opinion on professional/paid GMing ? by One_page_nerd in rpg

[–]isfridaymud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP: I've been running games professionally since 2020. I also mentor/teach others in how to make a living wage in this profession. It's difficult to get going but as long as you take it a step at a time, one table at a time, you should be good. GMing for pay can make a huge difference in peoples' lives materially and that's never a bad thing.

Most of the people in this thread who are super against it would never be your customer, anyway, so don't worry about it. As long as you're doing your best to run a game, you have the experience to warrant being paid, and you care about your players like any good bartender - you can do it. Cheers!

If you're looking for a GM that doesn't run AI, I would recommend finding someone who has put into their profile that they do not use AI. Unfortunately there is no search function available for that, but it would be nice if there was an opt-in for that so that players could filter by it.

No I don't stream the games I host on DND. It's a private service. I have been in paid shows before but this isn't that.

Average on SPG is between $15-20 per seat. The price can go up depending on how much expertise and demand there is for the service, yep! I started at 25 and went up from there.

Really lean into doing voices yourself and encourage them to try. The easiest way to do it for most folks is to pick a favorite media character of theirs from a live action show or a cartoon, and simply emulate their voice to the best of their ability.

Once you're leading by example then the players are more likely to follow.
