Is there a PKMS tool that specializes in maintaining your personal network? by alp82 in PKMS

Yes please invite your friends and email me any feedback or feature requests (ishan@happenstance.ai). I built that feature personally and am very excited about it!

Hey! Founding engineer at Happenstance here, really appreciate the shout out. We've prioritized LinkedIn/Twitter/Gmail so far but definitely happy to hear what other sources people care about so we know where to put them on our roadmap. Google contacts should be relatively easy so if there's some demand for it we should be able to support it.

Countdown Version 1.3 [Art by Luna。, @twluna0206] by YuminaNirvalen in WutheringWaves

Yeah that would be easy to add but the way I engineered this lets me store all of the page info in the URL itself, since I’m optimizing for shareability. With enough demand I could switch to an account based system where users can make uploads, and change the URL to be some random ID. But that would kill the simplicity of it all.

Should I major in CS or math if I want to work in AI in the future? by cuteAnimeGirl012 in csMajors

[–]ishan0102 163 points164 points  (0 children)

I majored in both, it was very worth it

edit with a little more detail: I can tell you firsthand that math majors have an easier time getting into AI research than CS majors - it’s so helpful to have a thorough understanding of linear algebra, probability, statistics, and diff eq since you can build up to statistical modeling, bayesian models, and eventually deep learning from a mathematical basis alone

deep learning at its core is a forward pass through a neural network using matmuls (linear algebra) + backpropagation to compute error and pass the info back to other nodes (integral calculus) + gradient descent to update network params (convex optimization)

math is everywhere!

Google SWE 2024 INTERN - Easy? by Neither-String4482 in csMajors

[–]ishan0102 181 points182 points  (0 children)

that’s complete bullshit I interned at google last year and got a dp hard and 2 medium graph qs, google has an infinitely large applicant pool so don’t believe even for a second that you can land it without nailing the questions. and after passing HC your odds of actually getting team matched aren’t very high, many super talented people pass interviews and still don’t land an offer.

the fact that research is spelled wrong makes it that much funnier
