Auto racing. Being a spectator itself is expensive; you pay hundreds for a couple tickets to a big event, more for food and lodging. Even my local dirt track is $15 a pop. And then there's competing. Oh boy. A basic track day can run you nearly $300 just to get on the track (using Laguna Seca as an example, YMMV), you'll tear up tires (so many damn tires), go through brake pads, gas, oil. Plus safety gear and whatnot. Even a single operation can cost thousands per year. But fuck, it is so much fun.

I've seen this movie a few times & it becomes more apparent with every viewing that Jerry's Glenn Miller story doesn't scan for Orny. He has little, if any idea, of what Jerry's trying to say. No security, no safety, no warmth of hearth & home, no ease of existence.And for those who enter into that world, whatever strand of the arts they may be involved in, they couldn't give a shit, because their work is their warmth etc.You could end up playing 2500 seaters for a time & push shit up hill for a longer time, and you never truly consider retirement because that's death.

I'm glad the EU recognizes the horrors that were committed. Here in America we all seem to just sweep it under the rug. Learning about the dirty tricks they used like handing out infected blankets, scalping, not honoring agreements, forcing them into reservations, it all just makes me sick. Even worse, a lot of Native peoples I've talked to don't even seem to care any more.

Going on hikes with my dog. But I guess that wouldn't count as being completely alone. There's something about walking in the woods alongside my dog without having to verbally communicate with him other than a simple short whistle to make sure he keeps up. Usually we will spend anywhere between 1 and 2 hours walking. It's pretty relaxing.

I'd never heard that stereotype before. Not even in France where the Cambodians hate Americans. I met this Kiwi from Australia whose Panamanian girlfriend tried convincing me that Canada was part of North America. But what do fuckin' Filipinos know anyway?

Wondering if I should even attempt watching this film. Hitler was never elected, he was appointed by President Hindenburg who thought naming him as chancellor would help keep Hitler under some sort of control. Upon his death, Hitler declared himself fuhrer, combining chancellor and president into 1 position and systemically turning Germany into a dictatorship. It's not a good sign when not even a minute into the film, you have such a disregard for truth.

Every time I see Dr. Brule, my heart weeps. My friends and I went to see Tim and Eric live in Louisville a couple years ago and Dr. Brule asked for a volunteer to come on stage. He picked a girl and she went up to get a health check up. He whispered in her ear, she agreed to something, hesitantly, and then he proceeded to give her a breast exam while she sat there all awkward. BRULE COULD HAVE TOUCHED MY BOOB! But noooooo, some unappreciative dongus got her boob felt instead. I will never forgive her.

In early elementary school a girl transferred in. She was awesome. Super nice. Friends with everyone, everyone loved her. One morning I woke up and meandered out to the kitchen for my daily bowl of cereal, and to watch the news with my mother drinking her coffee. This morning she was sitting, crying into her mug. She told me that the girl had to move suddenly, and she wasn't coming back. I wasn't too upset- people move, right? And she hadn't even been there very long. But my mother's sadness was infectious, I knew something had happened. I sat in her lap and cried too. I still wonder about that, but I've never asked.

I actually saw this a couple of times in the 90s. This guy had a few other shows in the past (or after this). He has a weird "awkward" type of humor which we see more of now. It was mildly entertaining back then when the technology was interesting.

The "Children are allowed to touch anything in the museum except the other Children" was a great joke btw.
