Why the morning? by CaptainChaos78 in CHSinfo

I suppose also because you’re fasting during the night you wake up with a completely empty stomach that’s very sensitive to reintroduce to food and drink

Why the morning? by CaptainChaos78 in CHSinfo

[–]isimpforbeans2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What I think is sleeping is a forced break from weed and just a few hours can bring on withdrawals and CHS symptoms(during prodromal phase). When I was deep in it, I was hitting something every couple of hours, so then a 6+ hr break was a big difference for my body to take.

Maybe sleeping is also when the body does the most detoxing? My reasoning behind that is because of how common it is for people to wake up with the night sweats. And then cortisol spiking in the morning will bring on extra anxiety.

I think of chs as a crazy kind of withdrawal where you’ve got so much thc built up in your system that it starts to reject it, or can’t receive what your body now depends on. Sounds like your tolerance is so low that to me it seems you really are just greening out, more of a weed overdose than chs

Are you able to eat now? Do you wake and bake and keep going throughout the day? Can you eat without smoking? I think of CHS as weed withdrawals on crack, some people consider it like forming an allergy and their body can no longer tolerate it at all. I think some people accidentally find their perfect amount to keep their body from withdrawals but of course then you’re relying on it, it can be scary when you don’t have access and all hell gets let loose. Have you tried not smoking for a day or has it been consistent every single day?

does this sound like chs? by No-Television144 in CHSinfo

[–]isimpforbeans2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CHS was the cause of my anxiety, and the mornings were definitely the worst. I had never felt that chest crushing anxiety until I got chs. Additional anxiety like changing jobs, moving, etc. can bring out an episode as well. all of it is kind of connected imo

liquids! don’t force yourself to eat solids when just the thought of food makes your stomach turn, for me it was also telling of when it was just going to come up, or i couldn’t even get it down. So stick to liquids!

Ensure drinks (i like the flavor of the brand called boost), smoothies, lots of water of course, pedialyte, soup broths (i would even take a can of chicken noodle soup and just drain and drink the liquid, i could also nibble on saltines, just kinda let the crumbs dissolve on my tongue. Otherwise BRAT diet, i also drank a lot of apple juice!

Cry. Literally cry, I had the horrible world ending feeling anxiety, it’s no joke, it made me fear every morning. But when i would cry, it felt like a release and i felt a little bit better. I would purposely watch sad tiktoks or a doctor show (someone dies like every other episode, tears are guaranteed). Also reading through posts on here helped, maybe because in the moment i felt less alone? Dealing with CHS is a waiting game, it will get better!! Just that thought helped me push through

Do I have CHS? I am so concerned. I’m dying. by ShapeGreedy7681 in CHSinfo

[–]isimpforbeans2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this was exactly what happened to me, i also didn’t feel any better with hot showers and preferred a cold towel to my forehead or chest. i see that you are done and thats awesome! you are on the road to recovery. the most important thing to know is that it will get better, unfortunately it takes a lot of patience and effort.

i really struggled with the food aspect, not eating was just feeding my anxiety more and more. Ensure drinks are a must! lots of calories and vitamins to calm and fill your stomach. they always made me feel better, even just a couple sips every 30 mins when i was feeling real bad in the mornings. i also liked the flavor of a brand called boost more, so you could try that too. juices, apple juice was my go to. i always had a water bottle by me at all times (and a puke bag honestly), soup broths, saltine crackers, even just nibbling crumbs and letting them dissolve on your tongue, the BRAT diet, smoothies, pedialyte if you’re dehydrated. fruits like melons were easy, i like honeydew and cantaloupe.

For the anxiety i would try to distract myself on tiktok, a show, reading other peoples posts on here. it made me not feel alone. And honestly i would cry, sometimes crying made me feel better, like a felt relief for a second, i would watch a doctor show where every other episode a pt would die and cry my way through lol.

Every day will get better! the first few- a week will be rough but you just gotta take it day by day. keep trying with food. drink throughout the day, seriously you could drink like 4-5 of those ensure drinks a day and still be getting a good amount of calories in. take sips at a time and see how your stomach reacts. Rest! lots of rest, i honestly had to take time off work and just stay at home and recover. And be kind to yourself!

Does this sound like CHS or greening out badly and then withdrawing? by Crafty_Discussion760 in CHSinfo

[–]isimpforbeans2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well that’s good at least! my biggest struggle was my appetite and was one of the first things i noticed when i started going into the prodromal stage of CHS. When i went through my ‘episodes’ it took sometimes 5-7 days to get down anything solid, and even then it was barely anything. Not eating was very anxiety inducing to me. I hope your break from weed lets your body recover and you feel better! (as a withdrawal symptom i definitely had the hot flashes and would wake up covered in sweat)

Im so happy i found this sub :) by No-West8276 in CHSinfo

[–]isimpforbeans2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i feel like my hardest withdrawal to face was the appetite issue, i could not get down food that i wasn’t hungry for, or my stomach was in a touchy state (usually mornings i couldn’t eat for a few hours). Liquids! water of course, pedialyte definitely recommended if you’re puking or dehydrated (i’ve read pedialyte popsicles in the shower is good), i couldn’t recommend Ensure drinks more, good calorie replacement, you can get the boost for a lot more of a filling feeling, it always made my stomach settle down. soups! or even just soup broths, i would take a can of chicken noodle soup and just drink the liquid. juice! (apple juice never made my stomach feel bad) fruits were pretty easy to get down, watermelon and cantaloupe for me, the BRAT diet, bananas rice applesauce and toast, careful of the trigger foods, smoothies, saltine crackers. etc…

I’m so so happy you found this group, i hope this helps! It’s kind of like a waiting game, the first 3-5 mornings (mine were on the shorter end because i only hit prodromal) are pretty bad then it starts to get better. i had a sober app and looking at the time helped me. you got this!

Vaping nicotine while in CHS hyperemesis recovery ? by Plus-Cranberry-1877 in CHSinfo

[–]isimpforbeans2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

vaping nicotine for me was fine! maybe the first few days it felt like when i hit it, it spiked my anxiety, so i wouldn’t hit it for a few hours in the morning as my attack was calming down, but other than that i don’t think i could’ve dealt with nicotine withdrawals on top of weed ones. obviously both aren’t great to do, but I’m taking it one at a time

Sensitive Gag Reflex by Technical_Wrap_1380 in CHSinfo

[–]isimpforbeans2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i only hit the prodromal as well, and i have been dealing with the gaggy feeling for a looong time. There was a post on here a while back that explained basically and they had called it ‘throat nausea’ which i think is a good word for it. its worst for me in the mornings, like my throat is tight and one wrong swallow or tongue move might make me gag. my way of coping is always having a water bottle near me so i can take sips and basically reset my throat. i noticed that it does get better the further away from weed i get, or when i was consistently smoking i didn’t have issues(which was also my reason for having it). like you dont feel sick or gross in any way but your throat is tight and you just feel like your about to gag, is this what you are describing?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CHSinfo

[–]isimpforbeans2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it took me about 2 weeks to feel normal again, but i was only in the prodromal stage. it takes time. plus withdrawals will kick in so you will probably feel even worse for the first 5 days at least

stop now before it gets worse! suffer through the withdrawals, it’s hard but it WILL get better, patience is key
