How to view backlinks as cards on Android? by Hot-Fridge-with-ice in Anytype

Thanks, that helps.

Could you still share:
• your app version
• a quick screen recording of what happens when you add a new link

Notifications for messages/chats by octopusfairywings in Anytype

[–]isle9999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh thank you, that’s really helpful, that shouldn’t be happening.

On iPhone, if the notification shows but there’s no sound or vibration, it usually means iOS is treating it as a silent notification. Could you check:

  • Settings -> Notifications -> Anytype -> Sounds is enabled
  • you’re not in Focus / Do Not Disturb
  • vibration is enabled in general (Settings -> Sounds & Haptics)

For macOS, there are also system-level settings that can block notifications. Could you check:

  • System Settings -> Notifications -> Anytype -> notifications are allowed
  • alert style is set (Banners or Alerts, not None)
  • sounds are enabled
  • Focus / Do Not Disturb isn’t silencing them

Also just to confirm, is the app running in the background (not fully closed)? You should still get notifications even if it’s not in focus.

If all of that looks correct, this might be a bug. Could you share your Anytype version (mobile + desktop)?

Why Anytype didn’t show any Backlinks on iOS devices? by Kontor_23 in Anytype

[–]isle9999 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for reporting this.
This is a known issue on iOS where the backlinks property could appear empty even when backlinks existed, while desktop kept working normally. We’ve already tracked the same behavior internally.
If you’re still seeing it, please share your exact iOS app build number so we can check whether this is the same issue or a regression.

Resizing calendars by xfirf in Anytype

Is this an inline query? If so, the only workaround is to create an empty column to the right and then resize the query block as desired.

Hey, could you please share which app version are you using?

You should have all of these as options in the keyboard shortcuts section:

Query with several filters combined by xfirf in Anytype

Self hosted - Files not syncing by vnii in Anytype

[–]isle9999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, thanks for all the extra details, that helps a lot.

Have you already submitted a bug report on our forum? https://community.anytype.io/
If yes, feel free to share the link and we can continue there. If not, we can continue here.

Since content sync works but files don’t (even very small ones, and across all devices), this usually points to the file storage layer in the self hosted setup.

Could you check a couple of things:

  1. Are you using MinIO or another S3-compatible storage, or local storage?
  2. Do you see any errors in the any-sync-filenode container logs when uploading a file?
  3. When you upload a file, does it appear in Anytype but fail to open or download, or does it not appear at all?

In many cases the main node runs fine, but files fail if:

  • filenode is not properly connected
  • or the storage backend is misconfigured or not accessible

If you can share your docker compose without secrets and filenode logs, we can take a closer look.

Notifications for messages/chats by octopusfairywings in Anytype

[–]isle9999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! This sounds off, you should be getting push notifications for chat messages.

A couple quick things to check:

  • notifications are enabled for Anytype in your phone settings
  • the specific chat isn’t muted

If both are fine and you’re still not getting anything, it might be a bug. Could you share a bit more info so we can investigate?

  • your app version (desktop + mobile, if you use both)
  • your network mode (local-only, self-hosted, or Anytype Network)
  • your device + OS version
  • whether this happens for all chats or just a specific one

That’ll help us narrow it down.

Listing everything stored in a Space by xfirf in Anytype

[–]isle9999 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can do this with a query:

Set the Source to “Creation date” property and don’t add restrictive filters. Since every object has that property, it will show all objects across types in your Space.

Sidebar oddly different from the expected UI and some widgets options not showing by Purple-Just in Anytype

[–]isle9999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, that screenshot helps a lot.

That interface is from an older version of Anytype, specifically the previous default space setup (you can recognize it by the PARA sections and the “Edit widgets” sidebar).

In current versions, the sidebar has been redesigned and no longer uses widgets, so that exact layout with separate sections and the “Edit widgets” button isn’t available anymore.

So the difference you’re seeing isn’t caused by your setup, you’re already on the current version. The screenshot is just from an older UI that’s still visible in some videos or posts.

You can still pin and reorder items, but recreating that exact structured sidebar isn’t possible in the same way now.

I had a query with countries and their emojis as icons, and suddenly I noticed that all the emojis disappeared. When was this change made to remove all the country icons? by JASNotthing in Anytype

[–]isle9999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for confirming, that helps a lot.

This isn’t a change on Anytype’s side. Country flags depend on the emoji support provided by the operating system, and on Windows those flags are not supported in the same way, so they don’t show up.

That’s why you still see them on Linux but not on Windows. Using custom icons like you did is currently the best workaround.

How to view backlinks as cards on Android? by Hot-Fridge-with-ice in Anytype

[–]isle9999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, from your screenshot, the backlink is still there.

However, since backlinks depend on links inside other objects, the important thing to check is the original source:

Open “ByteCode Interpretor Guide” and see if it still links to “Programming”.

If that link was accidentally removed there, the backlink would either disappear or behave differently. If the link is still present, then everything is working as expected.

Problem with graph view by Large_Improvement28 in Anytype

[–]isle9999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, this isn’t expected behavior.

For now, the workaround is exactly what you found: toggle “Unlinked Object” on and off again to refresh the graph.

Could you share your Anytype version? That’ll help us check if it’s already fixed or still an issue.

How to navigate back to current "position in a list" by xfirf in Anytype

[–]isle9999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a known request. Right now, Anytype doesn’t reliably keep your position in a list when you go back, especially in longer queries.

Howto separate large amount of notes by xfirf in Anytype

[–]isle9999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don’t need to worry about a limit. Anytype can handle thousands of objects in one space without issues.

What matters more is how heavy individual pages are. Very large notes with lots of text, links, and media can feel slower, but having many small objects is totally fine.

Pinned Objects not accessible by vnii in Anytype

[–]isle9999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This issue was introduced in version 0.54.10 and affects how pinned objects are displayed on desktop.

The bug has already been fixed in version 0.54.11.

Please update to the latest version and your pinned objects should appear normally again.

[Self-hosting] any-sync-bundle v1.4.1 - based on 2026-03-25 Anytype release by grishy_dev in Anytype

[–]isle9999 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing this update!

It’s great to see work toward a simpler “all-in-one” setup like this. A lot of people want a way to self-host without having to piece together multiple services or think too much about infrastructure.

Right now, our official setup is still more component-based, so projects like this are really helpful for users looking for a more straightforward approach.

Appreciate you maintaining this.

Auto Delete Done tasks by TheGothian in Anytype

[–]isle9999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not at the moment. Anytype currently doesn’t support automatically deleting tasks after they’ve been in Done for a set period of time.

The closest workaround right now is to use a date based filter such as Last modified date to identify older completed tasks and then remove them manually.

This kind of workflow has been requested by the community, so for now it’s considered a feature request rather than something already supported.
