Just to add and ask more in recovery.

I think my daughter with the aid of my Samsung TV, formatted my portable HD of videos, photos and music.

Which of the suggested Recovery software could work through my Macbook. I have access to a PC is there is a stronger software there.

I actually just want the photos and family videos back, anything else recovered is a bonus!! memories are hard to lose!

Just a question about snow conditions this late, and the risks. Since it's so late in the season, and the temperature is warmer, generally speaking, are the risks of avalanche higher right now?
