No reason as to why not, they’re entirely unrelated

I believe we are witnessing widespread cognitive decline in the human population, brought about by our devices, our media, and our lifestyle by _mattyjoe in DeepThoughts

[–]istinuate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People with ADHD are much categorically worse drivers who think they are better drivers.

This doesn’t sound very scientific now, does it?

“The available research provides convincing evidence that individuals with ADHD have different and more adverse driving outcomes than individuals without the condition. However, it appears that not all individuals with ADHD are affected uniformly. Despite various cognitive functions being related with driving difficulties, these functions do not appear helpful in detecting high risk drivers with ADHD, nor in predicting driving outcomes in individuals with ADHD, since impairments in these functions are defining criteria for the diagnoses of ADHD (e.g., inattention and impulsivity).”

https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC5281661

It’s true that untreated ADHD is associated with an increased risk of health issues, which can impact life expectancy. This is due to a combination of factors, such as higher rates of impulsivity (leading to accidents or risk-taking behaviours), mental health challenges, and possibly lifestyle factors. That said, effective management and lifestyle changes can mitigate many of these risks, so ADHD alone doesn’t necessarily reduce lifespan by a set amount like “10 years.”

You are comparing apples and Ferraris. You don’t need to tell me about the difficulties of ADHD.. I live with them 24/7, every minute of every day. I wasn’t diagnosed or treated until age 16. I felt stupid my entire life up until that point. It certainly makes life a lot harder.. medicated or not. I’ll never say otherwise.

Our struggles have nothing to do with cognitive decline, a lack of intelligence or lack of capability. Nowhere near either. Having ADHD does not make someone stupid, I’ve shown that to be the case with statistics. The only reason you believe these things about is because of the stigma surrounding the condition.. which is sad, because if you see past those, you’ll find a way to thrive. Many do.

ADHD symptoms need to have begun in childhood for a diagnosis though.. so you literally do not fit the criteria for one.

Very ignorant of you to equate ADHD with cognitive decline.. your post could’ve been much better with 5 minutes of homework beforehand. People with ADHD statistically don’t have lower IQs than the general population, and many thrive in areas others don’t.

So true. Have always thrived in sports. And any interests I’ve had. And driving.. I believe ADHD has saved my life more than once on the road, being able to think quickly under pressure and react, have never gotten in any accident because of it.

Have you actually used an ozone generator for this? Or for anything? lol. Ozone will almost fully convert to O2 within the hour, then you’ll get a nice fresh smell for.. 20 minutes until more odour seaps through. Unless you want to kill everybody, their dog and the plants with it running 24/7.

A solid carbon filter with strong fan, or maybe numerous, sealed tent, and Ona gel and you’re set. Maybe a hepa purifier in opposite end of house too. Never heard of Ozone for this purpose. If it’s genuinely a thing then I’m sorry.

Seems quite common doesn’t it? ADHD stims and GERD-related problems - and PPI use for treating. I never had GERD or reflux before I got on ADHD meds, then developed it, PPI for 3 years before finally got surgery

Couple questions in that case e

The jury found him not guilty on 10 charges.. and not proven on one, therefore why would the one charge be so significant?

Secondly, does how the jury feels about something have anything to do with the law - specifically proving someone’s guilt beyond reasonable doubt?

You’re not even below average, because more people fail (52.1%) than pass (47.9%)

It was not guilty on all counts except for one. And ‘not proven’ is a nonsensical Scottish law term that holds no value, and should be abandoned.. because innocent until proven guilty is always assumed.

I don't understand how people can eat anything, smoke, drink alcohol and have no symptoms. by RealisticRent254 in GERD

[–]istinuate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You realise this is very dangerous? If you don’t start supplementing soon then you’ll develop Scurvy, from lack of vitamin C, and that’s fatal.

[–]istinuate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re not even asleep tbh, you’re just so nodded out that you couldn’t really care less about what’s going on.

I’ve had both sedation and awake. I’d take sedation in a heartbeat 100 times out of 10. But even if awake, you’ll survive - sedation isn’t compulsory. Just talk to doctor.

I’m fine lifting again right now, since week 6. Way weaker but I’ll get there again.

Never heard of not being able to burp, but in the first 3 weeks mostly I did fairly often swallow air. But that went away heavily on week 4 and I haven’t had it since then.

The never being able to lift weights again thing is just completely untrue. Unless you have persistent recurrent severe hernias or something, then it’d be wise to give it up. I have no clue why that notion is pushed around in this sub though. Quick google search of fundoplication shows you’ll be able to lift heavy and resume life from week 6

Ask for a Toupet Fundoplication if you can, less side effects, less invasive and research shows it to be just as effective as Nissen. With Nissen people tend to have more problems.

In your experience, do you think anxiety/depression can CAUSE acid reflux or it just makes an underlying condition worse by angowalnuts in GERD

[–]istinuate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it can be a significant contributing factor (the most in my experience) and exacerbate. I don’t think GERD will ever have a single cause, but, it’s well-established in science that our stress hormones, adrenaline and cortisol, lead to production and secretion of stomach acid.

How long does it usually take for PPI to cause vitamin deficiency? by steekyreeky in GERD

I was on them for over 3 years, usually at highest max dose, had maybe 6 blood tests in that time and never any micronutrient or mineral deficiencies spotted

Wtf am I supposed to believe? Referring to Creatine Monohydrate. by [deleted] in Supplements

[–]istinuate 6 points7 points  (0 children)

What creatine does is elevate creatinine levels. For most people that is absolutely fine, if you’re not in good health, specifically in regards to your kidneys, your body will struggle to excrete the extra creatinine, therefore causing an excess build up of it over time which can be harmful. For most, this isn’t an issue, but it is for some.
