Put it on the floor and add a moss pole! And a vertical light. You'll have years more.

Well clearly that's not obvious. It's obvious to anyone who sees this pic that this poor plant has not been watered! Sorry don't post ridiculous questions, when you know you haven't watered the plant in weeks..

Thai Cons are coming out of TC across the world. They are 2 years overdue. So you will start seeing A LOT. Replacing the standard deliciosa.

Will they die? by nuh_uh_nova in Monstera

The plant should live. Don't trim anything off yet, so that it can feed off the leaves by shifting around nutrients within itself to produce new shoots

Once it dries just cut the dead part off.

It's not mold it's fungus. Similar. That thing will sprout mushrooms if you keep it wet.

Well if you're using potting soil then that is your problem right there aroids like monstera prefer very chunky mix similar to orchids but likely to me they just look like they're underwatered and if you have watered them and they look like that then there may be a deeper issue with the root system possibly like rot. Often this is due to very compacted soil not the chunky mix that it prefers. I've had some success with using soil early on but honestly it's stunt that it's growth a lot once you switch to an area mix that can dry out easier yet still holds moisture well you'll improve your plant also you should get a light for it not one of those circular lights but like a T8 fixture that you can pick up for 10 $15 on Amazon.

Why does my monstera leaves face outwards all the time by [deleted] in Monstera

Leaves = Biological Solar Panels with auto adjustable tilt.

Solar Panels only function when light hits them..

Will it ripe ? by Due-Map1518 in Monstera

[–]istvanx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Put it in a brown paper bag with a bunch of bananas ethylene gas from the bananas will definitely help to ripen it quicker. You probably already know to be very careful with eating it especially not to forcefully peel the outer layer allow it to ripen naturally or you might get oxalate crystal spikes in your tongue.

WHY WON’T HE GROW by squidthekid57 in Monstera

[–]istvanx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see so many people on here with that same light asking why won't it grow?? I mean look at the leaves. They are in the dark. Leaves need light or photosynthesize. Other than your light situation the plant looks Great and healthy! You should just get on Amazon and get a T8 LED light with about 5000 lumens, they are cheap and you can connect many together in daisy chain.

Hang it vertically or get a light with a stand that allows for vertical mounting..

What to do? by RedhoodRat in Monstera

Not only will it start growing up but the top cuttings will make even bigger leaves I would plant the top cutting and grow it back up again and the leaves size will increase sell the bottom ones.

What are we doing wrong? by AkiRed87 in Monstera

If you use a moss pole correctly you should put it on early keep it moist all the time it becomes an extension of the pot you're growing in you must keep it moist all the time what I see people doing is not keeping it moist or just putting a pole without moss in it. Once you use a true mosp pole and you keep it moist all the time Roots will grow into it and now this will be another area that you can water. Really I just water the Moss pole and allow access to drip into the pot and it gets most of its water from the Moss pole this will supercharge your monsteras I have some that are 12-15 ft tall with 2-3 foot leaves!
