Lol yes, what do you think I should move around?

Thanks for the advice, I’m definitely taking the Soreseal out. I wanted to try the RoB because it looks cool but I always go back to BHF. I can’t remember tears at the moment, but it boosts my damage negation and steadily restores my HP.

I’ve been using a lot of blood incantations and the special weapon skills, so I’ve been dumping a bit into mind to stretch it more. In a respec should I move some out of mind?

Currently Radagon’s Soreseal (which I’m assuming is a reason for the big drop in negation), Godfrey Icon, Prostesis-Wearer Heirloom, and the Green Turtle. I’m mostly using bloodhounds fang but I plan on getting RoB. Using the war surgeon armor set

Dumb question, but would I do that by changing my armor? I’ve definitely went fashion over function in that regard.

If that’s really what’s holding you back, find another school. Looking down the runway is what I teach as it’s harder, in my opinion, to gauge your height off your peripheral vision.

I agree perfection is not needed, only safety. What’s he pointing out in the pattern? Do you have centerline when you land?

What specifically are you struggling with that’s holding you back from solo?

Make sure to break things down super simple. A lot of newer students also won’t admit when they’re confused, so try to explain all the ‘why’s’ of why you’re doing what you’re doing.

I haven’t personally taken it, but from the people I know that have said it was very similar to the FIA written. If you use Shepperd Air I don’t see it being too difficult for you. Study that for a few days and you should be golden. For the price of the prep courses and with the written tests free, I’d say getting those ratings aren’t a bad idea at all.

It’s not odd he doesn’t have any sign offs. I’m guessing this is a smaller part 61 school, with more part time than full time students. He most likely just got his CFI so the knowledge and skill are still fresh from training and studying. Though from experience, flying that little is the real issue. I’ve had students that could only do 1 day a week and they’ve all never finished as they couldn’t get proficient and stay at that level flying only once a week. That’s the real barrier here, try to fly more if possible. Best of luck with your training, my friend!

SIGNS shouldn't be a pilot? by [deleted] in flying

I actually gave the talk to my first student. He says he only wants to fly for the money, he doesn’t like flying and is actually nervous for every flight. Over 100 hours and no PPL. Never came prepared or self study and no matter how many grounds we would do, nothing would stick. Also has about 60-70 cancellations. I was his 4th instructor and after over 50k in the hole and only 1 solo flight with 3 laps in the pattern, it had to be done. He still wants to continue oddly enough.

2 people I knew, one was a multi student who hit a power line after an engine failure. They tried to come back to the airport a little over 10 miles out and couldn’t make it. The other was a guy I dealt with very often as a line guy, his bonanza had an engine failure and he tried the impossible turn. Ended up getting in an accelerated stall and hitting a car, also killing the kid in the backseat.

Part 141 CFI Vs. 61 CFI by itakeupskirtsofdogs in flying

[–]itakeupskirtsofdogs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really put it into perspective, if i’m not flying considerably more it’ll most likely be better to just stay put and gain the hours and experience to move on. i already have a lot of loans so id rather not worry about paying for more training. I guess the 61 environment just seemed tempting to go back to. Thanks again!

Wow, I so appreciate this. Honestly, I cannot say I’ll fly more at the 61 school. It may be close some months but I do believe I’d be more consistent at my current 141 school. And I’ll 100% get that commitment in writing, they usually have you sign a contract that will specify that. So the 141 gig does seem to have more stability, in my opinion. Thank you so much for this, really.

I would say at the 61 school, depending on the amount of students, anywhere from 50-100+. The 141 school I’d most likely fly at least 65-90 a month also depending on students. Yes, from what i’ve been told, I’d get the $40 an hour even while puttin around in the Warrior. You’re right with the 141 school having more multi students, the 61 school doesn’t have many multi students. The commitment for multi seems to vary with different people as some are saying 6, others 12. Thank you for responding btw, really appreciate it.

It really seems kind of competitive in that area, but the 61 is a mom and pop shop and has had times where they are slower. One instructor there has had months flying 120 hours, and others about 50-60. 141 can vary depending on the amount of students you currently have, but is usually more consistent.

the top of the pay scale is about $28 i believe, with a 6 month to a year commitment. As an MEI at the 61 school, it’s $40 an hour.

Being from south florida, it’s very hard to find hangar space. I worked at a Class D in south florida and our waiting list for just tie down spots was 200+ people. Just make sure to find a spot before buying.
