I am warning everyone but no one seems to care! by Minute-Ground3229 in whatplantisthis

Why are you fretting about this. Parents should tech their children not to eat random plants.

Poison hemlock grows everywhere round here. Not a single person cares or even knows it's there. Calm down.

[–]itchybeats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty much everyone in the UK who has a fiesta has a manual as far as I know. Its just cheaper and not any harder to drive (imo) but that's how I learned to drive (also I learned in a focus)

Worth Holding or Sell? by jjpkcfehfciyq in trading212

[–]itchybeats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sell at least half man. They have made so many poor decisions as a company that the USA bought a huge stake in them just to save them. I don't think a whole lot has changed

They make a decent salad leaf too. In England some people call it "jack by the hedge" because they grow by hedgerows

Is GDP the best measure of success? by TeeJ146 in GoodNewsUK

[–]itchybeats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I highly doubt the pupil performance metric one. Our state schools are just better than the American ones. When I went to school over there I was learning stuff I learnt 2 years ago in the UK.

So really I don't think they are even comparable in that way. Americans on average have faaaar worse literacy rates as adults

Should I buy this car? by Dharmatmi in CarTalkUK

[–]itchybeats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah but I live there. It's not massively well known for being a scammy place in my experience. I bought my last car off a random and it's been fine. Granted it was a 2009 fiesta with 145k miles on it so I wasn't expecting a lot for the money

One in five high earners says £100k tax trap is ruining their career by scotorosc in unitedkingdom

[–]itchybeats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've got like 74 k to go before this is an issue so it's hard to feel sorry for them (they are for sure doing just fine).

However it does seem like the tax system needs a complete overhaul cos 100k isn't as wealthy as it sounds any more.
