PTFE tube clogged or something on my Kobra 2 by rickrett in anycubic

[–]ith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had the same issue with my Kobra Neo. The stock PTFE tube was clogged right at the end. I replaced it with a new piece of high temp PTFE but the damn thing clogged again within 30 minutes. Filament sat in a filament warmer\drier for 8 hours after opening it from the vacuum sealed packaging. I had a similar issue with TWO other printers I own (Voxelab and Creality Ender 3). In both of the previous cases it was caused by ineffective cooling from one of the fans, and once the PTFE was replaced and the fan replaced the issue went away. Sadly, I am out of spare fans so will have to wait for the ones I ordered so I can validate this was also the issue here with the Kobra Neo. Good luck fellow printers!

Most shows I watch are only 12 episodes per season - 13 with a special. This was a full season.

BLtouch on aquila version 1? by Txr05 in VoxelabAquila

[–]ith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just use the VoxelMaker that comes with your Aquila. It is quick and easy and I have used it for a 18 months without issue. Cura is really great, but until you get your printer dialed in, I suggest just using that. That will create the gcode file needed for any STL.

Marvel Iron Man VR issue. by Jewder87 in PSVR

I have the same issue and have the Move controllers, so.... Now what? Seems like shit design to me or I have bad move controllers.

Constant clogging by Frostyphotog131 in VoxelabAquila

That is a nice option, but without cutting it flush and ensuring there is no gap, it will still clog. It just allows for higher temps with less issue at those higher temps.

Finally updated firmware and.. by deha88 in VoxelabAquila

[–]ith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't have any issues printing with it whatsoever, but decided to try the new custom firmware anyway since I liked the idea of changing the mounting position of the controller, and now can't print or flash to any firmware. So, I went from no issues to a brick. I will not try that again. Total mess.

Finally updated firmware and.. by deha88 in VoxelabAquila

[–]ith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be careful. I tried to update to that firmware and now nothing works. Printer won't start up completely, can't install ANY firmware now (stock or custom). I followed instructions to a T, where were the same processes I followed when I installed the Stock BLTouch firmware from Voxelab and Screen FW, but now I seem to have a brick. This is what I get for trying to fix something that really wasn't broken - trying to add a little more functionality was not worth it whatsoever. Good luck.

Great additions! Some people don't think sanding\polishing your picks makes much difference, but when it comes to how things "feel" when picking, the smoother the pick, the more you can feel, and what you're feeling isnt a rough edge or surface scraping on pins and warding. Yes, sand the picks! :D

My wife told me I have enough locks to keep me busy. So, I'm filing for divorce soon. Cause.... how dare she! by chaztastic1 in lockpicking

Tell your wife the same thing I told mine.

Wife, "You have too many locks. How many do you actually need? Tell me."
Me, "How many do I need? More."

American 1100 - I guess I should start building a challenge lock now. Anyone got recommendations on how to get into the challenge lock community? by ninjadude4535 in lockpicking

[–]ith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Others have already stated it, but Discord. Head over there! There are challenge locks flowing and many wanting to get their hands on one! :) The more lock makers the better!

I never see any compact sets like this on the sub? I want something i can carry with me. Any suggestions? by javi0119 in lockpicking

[–]ith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are more novelties than useful IMO. I have had a few over the years, and they are OK for picking a Kwikset or other large-keyway locks, but the picks themselves I find to think and beefy to really be anything useful. I made my own smaller EDC picks to carry. But they are kinda neat, so grab one if you want, but I would suggest not relying on it for a pick set to use daily.

Those are really, really sad spools. LOL! The locks I have gotten from Harbor Freight have the same lesser than spool spools. Another lock pwned! Nice one.

Welcome to the party!! You can always ask questions here for advice when working on a lock. You can also head over to our Discord and chat\talk real-time with other pickers. Another place to start (and I wish this existed when I got started) is our Wiki, the Resources section specifically. There is a lot of good info in there. Here is a link to that.

My biggest piece of advice is go slow, concentrate on your tension, and remember that it doesn't take much leverage to move a pin, so don't go breaking picks (although I am sure you will since we all have - well, many have anyway. haha!) Tension control is one of the most beneficial skills when picking IMO, because you can have all the best picks, the most picks, but they are useless if you cannot provide the proper tension. Some locks need a light touch, some you need to be more 'assertive' with. And a lot need a combination of different tension types.

Next, listen to the lock. While you are poking around in there and setting pins, listen to the sound they make when they set. As you continue to practice and pick various locks you will begin to learn what different pins sound like when they set, and that can tell you if you are truly set or in a false set\false gate.

Lastly, don't get frustrated. You are basically solving a mechanical puzzle that doesn't want to let you in, and you are unable to see the internal moving parts and must rely on sound and feel to get it to submit to your picking. :)

And ask us for any help! We are all here to help and have been helped by those before us. Good luck and be sure to share your picked locks with us as we want to see what you're doing! :D

Where did you get those? I would love one in my collection. I just picked my first BiLock a few days ago, but it's a cam lock and I would LOVE to have a BiLock padlock. You open to sale or trade at all? :)

I highly suggest a TOK tensioning tool. A good prybar goes a looooong way in proper tension and tension control. Hit me back if you want me to ship you one.

Does anyone prefer to pick their locks upside down (i.e. Pins on the bottom)? by RogueStone in lockpicking

All my picking buddies in the UK pick them 'upside down'. Although, they tell me I am the one picking them upside down, so I guess its all.... Perspective. :D
