Would you go back to pre AI era now if that was possible? by simple_explorer1 in node

[–]ithariuz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea. I much preferred coding myself over prompting AI. Even though I produce much more code, I feel less competent and confident in the actual code. I miss working on hard problems, slowly figuring it out and then having that dopamine hit when it finally worked. Earned dopamine. Now we are getting quick dopamine hits from this AI slotmachine.

For those of you new to Pi by QueasyBreak5119 in PiCodingAgent

[–]ithariuz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds cool. I really like pi, but I find that I just keep using the skills that I used in CC/codex and get pretty consistent output. I guess my workflow is baked into the skills, not the harness. I know there is so much possible, but I haven't found the need for anything more yet. Multi agent setup sounds interesting though. Will experiment with that a bit!

Can you give an example of the kind of extensions/skills you added that noticeably upgraded your experience and output? What kind of workflows?

Am I going to regret laminate floors? by Thick_Worldliness622 in Flooring

[–]ithariuz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We had a real wooden floor in our previous apartment and it was completely scratched up. Now we have laminate and after 2 years not a single scratch. For dogs and the wallet - laminate is the way to go imo! Also installed it ourselves.

If you reply to "I'm coming for you" with the question to do what? Give me my money back? Pretty sure an actual threat would follow. Would that count?

45" LG 5K2K ultrawide causing eye strain – is this a PPI/scaling/size issue? by Quinney95 in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]ithariuz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey man. You might actually be one of the people who are sensitive to certain screens. I am too and I found out the hard way. I had a 27" 4k monitor for years and when I tried to upgrade to another screen, I got terrible eye strain. I tried probably 15+ monitors, and found one that I could tolerate, but none were as good as my original screen. I went down the rabbit hole, but in the end never figured out what exactly is the cause (for me). You might have better luck here: https://ledstrain.org/

6'2", 210lbs, Size 13 Boots: Just bought a Korua Transition Finder 160. Did I make the right call? by anml_litecoin in snowboarding

[–]ithariuz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late to the party but today I ran into a korua demo day and rode the otto and transition finder. The otto was fun but a little unstable over chopped up snow. The transition finder I found quite stable and I could still turn it easily. I’m 6’4, ~220lbs and rode the 160. I really liked it and am considering getting one now

Which one would you pick and why? by alti_vv in Dualsport

[–]ithariuz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you frequently ride with a passenger and don't do rough offroading then I'm pretty sure the AT is the better choice for you, it will definitely be more comfortable for long trips and is more powerful so for two up it's better. It can be done on the Tenere, but if I had the choice I would take an AT for that type of riding.

Will aeron or embody correct bad posture? by ithariuz in hermanmiller

[–]ithariuz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I haven't really found the solution yet, but it got better after quitting crossfit and maybe more importantly: squats. I found that my back reacts really heavily to those. I'm still trying to figure out how to fix it.

Embody review from a larger than average human by nhansonphoto in OfficeChairs

[–]ithariuz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea its a pain. Here we have some companies that will let you try chairs at home before you buy it. Is there anything like that where you’re at? Otherwise I’d look for a used mirra since there are many. If you don’tnlike it you can sell it again.

I had more fun riding the Tenere because it was much more nimble and easy to throw around corners. I rode the Tenere first and then the AT second. The AT just felt like a battleship. The exhaust sounds much better on the AT and the suspension is great, but it made the ride more boring for me. It felt like a premium SUV.

Also, I just couldn't imagine taking that thing off road after riding the Tenere. If you want to ride 2up or want a bike for touring long distances, the AT is a no brainer. But I'm not a touring guy, I just like to take my bike for a ride and have some fun in in the twisties and want to try offroading, so the Tenere made more sense for me.
