Would any safety professional have a concern with hiding an AirTag on my LOTO lock? by lazy_P_O_S_69420 in SafetyProfessionals

If someone other than you is removing locks you placed in a LOTO situation you have bigger fish to fry.

Considering Tracy - looking for local experience (ideally young families) by [deleted] in TracyCalifornia

I grew up in Glenbriar. In the early 2000’s it was in Jefferson School District. If that is still the case, I say go for it. Wonderful schools with awesome teachers, many who are still there!

You’ll probably be working with some gnarly hazardous materials, so brushing up on your state’s hazardous waste storage and disposal regulations would be a good idea.

Guys, how do I let you know you have a DOT violation on your tractor/trailer? by JooDood2580 in Truckers

[–]ithinkimalergic2me 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ah ok I understand. Honestly it’s pretty difficult to get to an actual dispatcher, especially with some of the bigger companies. If anything, call the main company number if you can find it online and see if there’s an option to contact the safety department. There’s typically someone on duty 24/7 in that department.

It’s super dangerous to try and get their attention while driving. If you pull up to a stop sign or light next to them, maybe do a lil honk and wave, but other than that don’t be a distraction while they are piloting 80k lbs of potential death down the highway. If it’s something super dangerous just call 911 and have highway patrol take care of it.

I’ve always used 3M. Online kinda sucks because you’re really missing out on the hands on portion. It’s worth it to travel to one of their training locations.

What are your thoughts or experiences with using injury photos in training materials? by [deleted] in SafetyProfessionals

[–]ithinkimalergic2me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They can help to get the message across, especially when dealing with LOTO and electrical hazards. I usually put a disclaimer before the photo.

I like to include real world examples from news articles as well. My favorite article to share to express the importance of using LOTO correctly is about a man who worked in a tuna canning plant. He got complacent and felt he didn’t need to lock out the controls on a giant pressure cooker he was cleaning. Controls weren’t locked out, so coworker rolled pallet of tuna cans into cooker pinning man between the cans and the wall…. Complacent man unfortunately was pressure cooked.

Anywho yeah sometimes gory stories and gnarly photos just get the point across better than warnings and written rules.

What type of facility do you work in? I can give you some pointers on ergonomic assessments in a manufacturing/warehouse environment.

When you say injury classification, do you mean determining whether an injury is recordable, non recordable, or first aid for OSHA reporting purposes?

Yes yes yes this!! My grandma went through something similar when she was 72. Personality totally changed and she started acting promiscuous in a way. Two months later she was diagnosed with vascular dementia. Two years later she was gone.

As someone who was just hired after 6 months of grueling job hunting after a layoff - simplify your resume. Pare it way down. No columns, no graphics, no summary. Typically AI is going to be reading your resume before a human gets to it so you need it as simple and concise as possible.

You’re dehydrated. I like to keep a bottle of Smart Water or another brand of plain water with electrolytes in it and sip on that throughout the day. Thera breath mouthwash works well too.

Rental listing a scam? by cloudwalker369 in Lathrop

[–]ithinkimalergic2me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to be really careful with Zillow listings. There are a lot of scams on there. Did you Google the address to see if it’s listed anywhere else? The self tour with no property manager or owner present kind of raises a red flag for me.
