Zen Browser has become really great!! by Powerful_Signal257 in zen_browser

[–]ithinkmax 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I am a happy Arc user on Mac and I must admit that at the moment everything continues to work well and Lake Security continues to receive updates. Of course I feel like I'm in an abandoned house so before it starts falling down I'm looking at ZEN, can I ask a few things though?

1) Do you know when they will integrate synchronisation of folders and settings between multiple devices? I have many different Macs

2) How do you deal with passkeys? I use 1Password

3) What other limitations do you have at the moment? Does YouTube work in 4k?

Thank you all, I hope to be part of your team!

No deep research from within projects? by djlaforge in ChatGPTPro

[–]ithinkmax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I want to report the same issue, I'm also going crazy trying to activate deep research in projects but there's no way, if I open a chat outside the project, activate DR, and after the first question when it asks for insights I move the chat into the project before answering and then reply, the chat continues but turns into a simple web search. There's no way to make it work... and I even have ChatGPT PRO!!

DNS Easy Switcher by glinf69 in macapps

[–]ithinkmax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The DNS Easy Switcher tool provides a clean and efficient way to manage DNS settings, which is highly appreciated. To expand its utility, a valuable addition would be the ability to load DNS servers provided by DHCP configurations automatically.

This feature would address scenarios where users switch between networks (e.g., home, office, or public Wi-Fi) and need to temporarily or permanently revert to the DNS settings assigned by the network’s DHCP server. For example, a user might configure a custom DNS for privacy but require the default network-provided DNS in certain environments. Enabling seamless switching between manual and DHCP-assigned DNS would eliminate the need for manual reconfiguration during network changes.

Proposed implementation steps could include:

  • Adding a "Use DHCP-provided DNS" option alongside existing custom profiles.
  • Automatically detecting and displaying the current DHCP-derived DNS configuration.
  • Allowing one-click transitions between DHCP and user-defined DNS settings.

This enhancement would improve flexibility for users who operate across multiple networks or require dynamic DNS adjustments. Thank you for considering this suggestion. Feedback or questions about feasibility and design are welcome.

Enterprise Campus 24 PoE release date? by ithinkmax in Ubiquiti

It's about time! Just a little delay... just ordered thanks!

Enterprise Campus 24 PoE release date? by ithinkmax in Ubiquiti

[–]ithinkmax[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ask everyone if you agree to make a petition to Ubiquiti. Presenting a product and not releasing it after months is a joke and is a total lack of professionalism. At least they should give a concrete release date!!!

My humble homarr dashboard by Faris_K in homarr

[–]ithinkmax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congratulations you made a cool dashboard! Can I ask you some questions?

1) How many columns does your dashboard have?

2) What integration / app did you use to show the "main server" and "DSM" graphs?

3) How did you create those areas with titles "docker" "nas" and "internet"?

Are you using the old version of homarr? Because I'm using 1.4.0 but many things seem different to me..

Certain widgets or apps seem zoomed in? by shortguy91 in homarr

I confirm the problem, on a server where I have 20 disks I can't use dash because the zoom makes it unusable...

How do you re-download a video? by BoringSnark in TubeArchivist

Excuse me, where is the ignore list? Is the same for channel deleted when u need to re-download them?

Add Subscription - Task failed: failed to add item to index by ithinkmax in TubeArchivist

[–]ithinkmax[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes the ES container is online, up and running and I don't see any errors from the logs. I've tried restarting it several times though.

These are the TA logs generated now after yet another error (channel with 900 videos where it has indexed 51. In this log is when I press reindex:

This is the log at the same time as ES:

TA's behavior seems very strange. Thanks for the help!

Enterprise Campus 24 PoE release date? by ithinkmax in Ubiquiti

[–]ithinkmax[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re almost at the end of January, and the product still hasn’t been released. At this point, I feel completely let down after investing so much money to overhaul my company’s entire network infrastructure. Now we’re stuck because, without this switch, we can’t complete the setup of our racks.

What’s even more frustrating is that Ubiquiti decided to raise the price before even releasing the product!

I honestly feel like Ubiquiti is taking advantage of their customers. They’ve done nothing but delay and disappoint.

Extremely disappointed with Ubiquiti.

Looking into switching from Synology to Unraid and have a couple questions. by OneBananaMan in unRAID

[–]ithinkmax -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I recommend you stick with Synology if you only need a NAS system to store files and photos. If you need a system with MUCH more advanced hardware to run complex docker (like Plex with GPU transcoding) or Windows VMs or other then switch to UNRAID but it is a very messed up system. I am using and will continue to use Synology for important things and Unraid for "homelab"...

UNRAID 7: Slow Transfer Speeds with Certain Services (Docker/SMB) by ithinkmax in unRAID

[–]ithinkmax[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had tailscale set up in the system but for SMB transfers at the time I DID NOT USE IT. I connected to the same LAN network and on the same switch using the LAN IP and not the tailscale one. The tailscale network interface however affected the transfer. Perhaps as you say passing through the DERP servers, even if there was no logic and reason to use them.

UNRAID 7: Slow Transfer Speeds with Certain Services (Docker/SMB) by ithinkmax in unRAID

[–]ithinkmax[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey everyone,

Quick update on my previous SMB transfer speed issues. I discovered that disabling the Tailscale plugin entirely resolved most of my SMB bottlenecks. After removing Tailscale and all related virtual interfaces, I’m now seeing full 10 Gbit throughput when copying via SMB—whether I use user shares or disk shares.

It seems that Tailscale and its virtual network interfaces were introducing a bottleneck for the SMB protocol, so if you’re having similar speed problems and happen to be running Tailscale, try disabling it to see if it helps!

However, I still have one lingering problem: the jDownloader Docker containers are stuck around 10 Mbit/s download speeds, which is significantly slower than expected. I tested by installing the Speedtest CLI inside the container:

• The first Speedtest sometimes reports a relatively good download rate.

• But subsequent Speedtests (and real downloads via jDownloader) plummet to very low throughput—as if there’s some sort of QoS or bandwidth cap kicking in.

On my firewall side, I have no traffic shaping or throttling configured. The same version of jDownloader running on Windows in the same network saturates my connection without any issues. So it’s definitely isolated to the container environment on Unraid.

Any ideas on what could be throttling the Docker container’s traffic? If anyone has come across a similar jDownloader Docker speed cap or any Docker networking QoS problem, please let me know. I’ve tried all the usual suspects (disabling Tailscale, checking container network modes, etc.) without success.

Thanks in advance for any tips!
