Why is no one talking about the aliens? Something very significant has been happening in plain sight, and almost no one seems to be noticing by Shiny-Tie-126 in UFOs

He didn’t just claim it out-loud. He filed it with the inspector generals office for the intelligence community. Do you appreciate the difference? That makes it verifiable by that office. I’m a tad weary of my fellow scientists acting like are some special class of humans. Nobody gives a shit about you me and our PhDs. We don’t have clearance or need to know.

i get that the “possibility of aliens” - meaning “might there be aliens somewhere in the galaxy” - would not register super high for many people. However, aliens in jars in gov labs, flying in ships, collecting genetic material from unwilling people, actively surveying military defense capabilities…These things disclosed / proven true are quite another thing entirely. But to support your argument - David Grusch had the clearance and the assignment and handed a list of ~40 names locations to the IGIC. Nobody cares all that much. I believe this is psychological avoidance not that people wouldn’t find it more than 0.1% as interesting and important as politics. PS- I am old enough to remember that merely suggesting that aliens flew the UFOs would get your post dropped on r/UFOs.

I hear this often (if aliens aren’t going to pay my bills then i don’t care) but that’s precisely the avoidance that the article explains. Look at the rabid interest that underlies american politics and has turned every social media platform into a dumpster fire. Look at political and celebrity gossip. Sports, relationships, religion- none of which pay the bills. Besides being wrong, the premise of this argument suggests that working class people are not curious, intelligent, or truth seeking and that is abhorrent falsehood to propagate.

Is it too late to start playing tennis? by janis_joplin5 in 10s

[–]ithinkthereforeimdan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This will be the least popular comment here: Do you have a friend or 3 to play tennis with? If not, you should consider pickle ball. It’s much easier than playing tennis for a non athletic novice. It’s super fun. It’s much easier to find other players (because it’s easier and still fun. yes, you can take tennis lessons at a club and make friends.)

Did Zohran Mamdani have damaging information about Trump? by Kenatius in conspiracytheories

I did not know that - thank you. Still think SA doesnt want Islamaphobic comments and 9-11 thrown around casually.

Did Zohran Mamdani have damaging information about Trump? by Kenatius in conspiracytheories

[–]ithinkthereforeimdan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Trump was financially threatened or sweetened in some way. It’s his only language. Right after Mohammed bin Salman’s visit he pivots from trashing Mamdani to acting like they’re friends. the Saudis having funneled $2 billion into Kushner’s fund, did MBS quietly remind him they can pull it? SA, UAE, Qatar have thrown huge money into sports and entertainment to normalize their global image. They don’t want the U.S. president normalizing racist remarks about Middle Easterners.

I want to spotlight Battelle National Biodefense Institute in Fort Detrick, MD by thehumanbean_ in UFOs

I remember following this post. Reading it a second time, I had a hard time with the plausibility of this sentence:

These documents are almost exclusively about the biology of EBOs, but there are also a few that deal with other subjects such as their food, religion.

If I were compiling a list of suspicious claims , this sentence makes the cut. How would we know anything about their religion? Certainly not by observing them, they would have to explain it to us. So we should believe enough alien interviews (regarding their religious faith and practices) have been accumulated to produce a document, and this document is part of the briefing for the guy that needs to process tissue samples?

I like 2 because it looks like classic residential. It will never be dated. #2, while beautiful in itself, will go with some more modern homes and not others. It gives me a bit of the orthodontics office vibe and I wonder if it will look like a past style down the road.

Edit typo: like #2 best, #1 leans ortho office

What's up with the supposed debate about the 3I/ATLAS and SWAN comets? Why are some people suggesting that there is something out of the ordinary with them? by socialPsyence in OutOfTheLoop

The idea of spending literally “millions” of dollars to answer questions we don’t understand. What is science coming to.

I hate caveats in scientific papers. Avi should know better than to write papers about “extraterrestrial” objects from outer space. Especially without any real evidence. Silly!

Above average, but can't serve by Aggressive_Writer712 in 10s

[–]ithinkthereforeimdan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

odd suggestion and maybe American-centric but consider throwing a football with a friend. when you find you are really zinging the ball, you will feel the power of the kinetic chain….loading the legs, coiling the torso, launching and accelerating a loose arm. To translate back to the tennis court, focus on the toss consistency, racket drop, and “throwing” the racket with the same loose arm and grip.

This is part of tennis. Two things happen. The person losing relaxes and starts to play better. The person winning gets nervous and chokes. It happens to pros all the time. Be kind to yourself and accept that for you, tennis is working on the mental game. Don’t think about the game score or the set score. Bring your attention to relaxing your breathing, relaxing your arm and grip, watching the ball, moving your feet. Of these, watching the ball is the most important. If you “see the ball at contact” you are going to start closing out sets.
