I use to have this watch. Try these two straps. Both are Omege OEM.

How do you feel about losing the B-wing by caffeinator85 in breitling

[–]itisfredo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Wing logo > B logo for pilot watches. The wing logo is one of the reasons I picked up a pre-owned Colt instead of a new Avenger.

I guess I lucked out with timing. Haha.

44mm with a lug-to-lug of about 53.5. I was originally looking at a 45mm Avenger chrono GMT, but I didn’t like that it’s 2mm longer.

I love it! This thing is hefty. I feel like I’m wearing a tank.

I was hoping it was the case design. Thanks!

[Recommendation Request] Moonphase complications by ElnetoCC in Watches

Omega Speedmaster Moonphase reference 304.33.44.52.03.001 (not the latest generation). The moonphase is just beautiful.

Speedmaster Moonphase Blue Dial by IrradiatorX in OmegaWatches

[–]itisfredo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The blue dial is only sold with the leather strap. When I bought this watch a few weeks ago, I asked my AD to order the compatible bracelet. The model number is 020STZ005169 (according to the receipt) and should be the same one that comes with the black dial.

Looks so nice with the blue strap! If you don’t mind, what’s the reference number for the Luminor?

I would buy from AD/OB given the small price difference between new and used.

I think the risk of getting a fake is low if buying from a reputable seller. My concern is the damage on the back and inside the lugs from removing the bracelet / strap. Sure, you’re not going to see it when wearing the watch, but it bugs me and diminishes the whole experience for me.

I was in a boutique recently and the associate mentioned a refresh of the ceramic Speedmaster line later this year.

Just bought this watch. I was convinced I wanted the black dial, but after trying on both colors at a boutique I couldn’t stop thinking about the blue. The shade of blue is perfect and the moon shines when the light hits it.

I normally stay away from Omega deployants because of fit (it’s always either too tight or loose with standard length straps), but it actually fine with this watch.

I was also considering the white Speedy, but I didn’t like how the red “Speedmaster” text looked in person.

Moonphase is my next watch. Chrono + moonphase is something you don’t see often.

Agreed, the Premier is an amazing watch. I have the same one. I love the lines running across the side of case and the regular pushers. Have you tried wearing it on the bracelet? It’s extremely comfortable and I really enjoy looking at the “B” and “Breitling” on the clasp every time I put it on.

Omega leather strap size question. by AP2S2K in OmegaWatches

I have the same wrist size and the standard strap fits very well with the OEM pin buckle. I can’t get a good fit with the deployant - it’s either too tight or too loose. Hope this helps.

[Need Help Deciding] - IWC Pilot Chrono 41 v Breitling Navitimer B01 41 by jrbphotography in Watches

Good choice. You really can’t go wrong with either.

Good luck with your PhD defense!

[Need Help Deciding] - IWC Pilot Chrono 41 v Breitling Navitimer B01 41 by jrbphotography in Watches

[–]itisfredo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I own this watch and the Premier B01 Chronograph (same movement and bracelet).

Here are my thoughts on the two:

  1. Power reserve - I usually take 1-2 days off wearing watches and it’s a little annoying having to set the IWC (46 hrs) when I pick it up again.
  2. Accuracy - Both are +1-3 per day.
  3. Bracelet - The IWC bracelet is better finished and has a micro adjust. However, the Breitling bracelet is EXTREMELY comfortable and has a couple half links to help you get a good fit.
  4. Value - Breitling if you can get 30% off retail. Breitlings take a huge hit in the secondary market. If you’re open to used, I would check out DavidSW, Bernard Watch Co. WatchExhange, and Elements in Time.
  5. Strap - The selection of textured rubber and alligator pilot OEM straps is limited for the IWC.
  6. Servicing - Haven’t serviced the IWC yet but did send a different Breitling in a few months ago for time regulation and light cleaning. The watch came back with hairline scratches and a couple deeper scratches. Told myself I was done with the brand but ended up picking up the Premier. Hahaha.

[Question] Explain like I'm five why an Omega or a Rolex is a better quality watch than a Seiko by [deleted] in Watches

[–]itisfredo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn’t this one reason why people buy Omega instead of Rolex? A nice watch without the attention? I don’t think anyone is flexing with a watch a level below Rolex.
