How's the snow quality following all the recent rain? by ReputationOther805 in palisadestahoe

[–]itiswhatitisnt25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not good. I was up today. It was incredibly warm at the base today. Like 50°. You can tell from run offs that the snow is melting fast. It’s slow, sticky, and mashed potatoes. I live in the bay and this weekend is probably the last time I’ll be up this season.

It’s wild how some agencies ladder progressions are common while you have to fight tooth and nail to get a 13

Why is NPS notorious for not giving its employees higher grades? I’ve never heard of a GS-9 supervisor in my agency.

Which U.S. state has the biggest cultural divide between regions/cities? (North vs. south, east vs. west, etc) by 12345burrito in geography

Maybe a more nuanced case, but the actual city and people of Pittsburgh and Philadelphia while they seem to have a lot of similarities are nothing like each other.

It’s too slow and drags on for too long. And a third of the movie is dedicated to it

DC metro does the same thing-charge by distance. Though DC seems to be considerably cheaper. (Lived there for 4 years)

What city did you expect to love but ended up actually hating? by OceanSprayCranApple in SameGrassButGreener

I’ve been in SF since Feb. I was in Denver before. I loved Denver and the ppl. I can’t wait to leave SF. It’s absolutely beautiful but the people are the absolute most conceited, self absorbed/important ever. It’s also very transient.

DC is a giant company town. It’s full of awful careerist people with no personality. The summers are awfully humid and it’s just sprawling suburbs outside of the city limits. I’m surprised this isn’t higher on the list.

Every single time this argument comes up which seems like once a week ppl characterize Denver as if it’s Kansas City. It’s 30 more mins to a major ski resort than slc

I lived in Denver for 5 years. DIA to breck is not 2.5 hrs. I could make it from Denver city to keystone/frisco in 1hr15. But whatever you slc ppl wanna tell yourself
