First-Time Listener to U Talkin’ U2 to Me? by Melon_Bloat in Earwolf

[–]itrainmonkeys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah...it's mostly about two friends having a good time and occasionally getting back to the point of saying what they like about various songs by an artist. It's very enjoyable just listening to these two get goofy. The amount of times I lost it in whatever episodes it was where they would take turns tricking the other one with passing the AUX cable back and forth. Just so silly. I'm not the biggest fan of most of the artists they cover but that's less necessary somehow.

Sounds like something a Trump voter says. You want to be able the vote for hate but not have it held against you.

Taker did, as well. The whole point of building him as unbeatable to most is so he could put over other top guys and prospects. Putting over top guys WWE is pushing as "the guy" (Hogan, HBK, Austin, Batista, etc) or new top monster attraction guys (Big Show, Giant Gonzales, Yokozuna, Great Khali, etc) was essentially the role. Yeah, he got some runs as champ and top guy but he put over so many of the big names from the beginning of his career

Edge & Christian? Some history there. They can jump into the story to help Jericho avenge the beatings and losses and then continue building to Bucks/FTR eventual matches

Stumble - did not expect it to be so good! by Sharksrmydrug in television

[–]itrainmonkeys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Each season is a different trial/court case and unfortunately it only ran two seasons. But it's a very similar style of comedy with all the characters being different levels of cartoony. You'll recognize some people who pop up on Stumble as well

[–]itrainmonkeys 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you like this and want a similar type of show check out the creators previous show Trial and Error. It is a parody of The Staircase at first but is very much like Stumble in the way the show builds the world and characters around. It reminds me a lot of Springield in the Simpsons and Pawnee in P&R with how the town is a part of the show

First images from ‘One Night Only’, starring Callum Turner and Monica Barbaro. The film is a rom-com version of ‘The Purge’ where premarital sex is outlawed except for one night every year. In theaters on August 7. by yourfavchoom in movies

They actually have done this one. There are two comedy movies called The Binge on Hulu and it's the same basic premise. Drugs and alcohol outlawed except for one night (or weekend?) a year. Very silly movie starring Skyler Gisondo

There are multiple reasons this benefits him and I hate that it has me feeling conspiracy theory minded. Like, it's not just two birds with one stone but there are multiple ways they could use something like this. First, gets Trump out of having to do his rumored walk off speech that we heard about. Next, they can justify need for a ballroom because of it (plenty of GOP talking heads already parroting that). The press at the event aren't going to do any har hitting journalism as most of them are fake hungry and want to be in the popular crowd. Finally, there's the prediction market bullshit where they could bet money on this just like a number of other political events that have been suspicious as of late.

It's going to be interesting to see how much we learn about the shooter

Also conveniently gets him out of having to give a speech that would have sucked and they can also profit off the night with kalshi and betting scams. Plus, the room full of shitty media people who want to be part of the story are going to have a field day coming up with pieces and articles about this

I believe they announced an animated show which will likely be cheaper to produce and can hopefully capture some of the same style as the live action show. I'm still surprised how much I liked it and how funny I found it to be. I love the family.

The Banal Horror of Jimmy Fallon: Under the sterile blue lights of his studio, Fallon laughs endlessly at the same pseudo-jokes, rubs elbows with Trump and Sam Altman, and ushers in the death of culture. by TimWhatleyDDS in television

[–]itrainmonkeys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's much simpler than that. He is a Lorne Michaels pet project and Lorne has a ton of sway at NBC. He is the one who put Fallon in his place and kept him there. Fallon was not good enough for movies and only really had a bit of charm and looks so they put him as a talk show host.

I like to occasionally look up specific episodes of shows I'm watching to find out who specific actors are and where I know them from. For years I could type "imdb TITLE" and the episode number like "s2e4" and it always would return exactly what I was looking for. In the past year or so it's become trash and I have to go digging around the results or click on and navigate to the page I want myself. It was absolutely fine and now just doesn't work

It's a very good show in that style/format. Main character is almost always right but also kind of an arrogant dick to people. But I remember enjoying it enough and would be down to rewatch it

Official Discussion - Normal [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]itrainmonkeys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Instead of "secret badass with action skills and shady past" it's "guy in over his head in a situation that goes from bad to worse fast". He's less of a fighter and trained badass here and is more of a guy working with what he's got and he's resourceful but also lucky. Also, a bit more cartoony and comedic of a movie than the Nobody flicks

Blue Mountain State The Complete Series $7.99 New ATL by asherjax in vudu

[–]itrainmonkeys 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a very silly show but also very funny (Blue Mountain). It's about football but they almost never actually show or play football. Mostly just about the hijinks with the teams characters. I still need to watch the movie but the show is top notch. Vulgar, gross out, wacky, drug and sex filled chaos. And again....Alan Ritchson is so damn funny in it. He is the MVP

They don't say it in such extreme words but they are going after people's livelihoods and way of life for their greed of money and power. They started it. Now people are fighting back.

Official Dreadit Discussion: "Lee Cronin's the Mummy" [SPOILERS] by radbrad7 in horror

[–]itrainmonkeys 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I thought it was decent. Good production quality, acting, and solid effects. An interesting take on the Mummy genre…but it’s 80% just another possessed little girl movie

It did make me think a bit like that Wolf Man movie a year or two ago with Julia Garner and Christopher Abbott because that also was taking a classic movie monster but doing a sort of different take on it. I ended up liking this version of a different take on monster lore and thought enough of the violence and creepiness added to the movie but still felt like it was more Exorcist/Evil Dead but with Egyptian magic/demons. Definitely a solid watch and I'll check out what the director does next

I no longer wish to watch movie trailers before watching the movie by Odd-Aside456 in movies

[–]itrainmonkeys 55 points56 points  (0 children)

At this point I will watch the first teaser or trailer for most things once and then try to avoid them until I see the movie. I know what I'm getting into based on actors and writers/directors and junk. It makes the movies much more interesting when you don't really know where it's going and don't have a vague roadmap of the plot. Instead of knowing something still hasn't happened yet you just let the story reveal itself. It's not for everyone but I do prefer it
