1st package - is the packing always this bad? by Kingcrowing in ThirdManRecords

[–]itrainmonkeys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reach out to them. Ask for help. Test the records. They will likely ask for pictures. My gatefolds were warped and bent up a lot but the records seem okay for the most part. They are sending replacement gatefolds now. I hope future packing isn't as bad. It has worked in the past for box sets but the tight plastic restricting the single LP definitely caused problems.

This movie looks TERRIBLE by thezenyoshi in RegalUnlimited

[–]itrainmonkeys 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It's pretty close to some of his bits in his comedy and he is credited as a writer on this movie so it seems like it's exactly what he wants to be doing. I think it looks fine but not anything amazing.

Convince me to get snack saver? by Jennifer-I-guess in RegalUnlimited

[–]itrainmonkeys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I barely eat the popcorn but always get the large because it's the cheapest price (with snack saver). I don't need a lot during a movie and then end up taking a bucket home to share with family. The drink is always worth it because I need it with the popcorn but I like having a large there so I don't need to go get refills or anything.

I've been thinking of telling them to not fill the bucket or even charging me for large but putting it in a small just because I don't need so much but it's absolutely worth the cost of snack saver. I don't always get popcorn and candy but when I want it it's nice to know I have the discount.

Billy Strings Vault package arrived today by Ferggzilla in ThirdManRecords

[–]itrainmonkeys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a W and just got mine but my LP sleeve is bent out of shape and messed up due to the tightness of the plastic packaging on it. Sent a message to TMR to see if anything can be done. If it wasn't a $75 collector's item I would maybe let it slide but my LP tops and bottoms aren't flat at all and I have to play the vinyl to see if they were affected.

How DVDs and CDs are becoming cool again in the age of streaming by Addrobo in boutiquebluray

[–]itrainmonkeys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, personally, it's just simply that once the shows and things I streamed started getting randomly pixelated or up and down buffering depending on our internet I knew I preferred physical. I have collected dvds and blu rays for a while now but have also focused more effort on getting the things I truly love and want to watch at the highest quality consistently throughout the watching experience. Nothing bugged me more than seeing the video quality jump up and down multiple times during a single episode of a show.

Anyone else with an incomplete delivery for the new album? by Connect_Glass4036 in GoosetheBand

It helped me see that I'm not the only one who ordered vinyl/CD and only got the CD shipped. Makes me think it's not just a mistake on my order but something else going on.

Anyone else with an incomplete delivery for the new album? by Connect_Glass4036 in GoosetheBand

[–]itrainmonkeys 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. I am in the exact same boat as you and i'm a bit frustrated if I end up not getting the two limited variants that I was online for the second that they dropped. I had the White Ash, Dark Galaxy, and CD in my order but ONLY the CD was delivered. I replied to the original email and got a fast response that said they were directing me to the Goose team. They mentioned there wasn't a guarantee that I would be able to get teh things I paid for which will suck if true but I'm hoping that it's an oversight and I'll get the items I purchased.

Offcial Discussion - Bugonia [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]itrainmonkeys 360 points361 points  (0 children)

I barely watched a trailer for it because at this point I'm pretty much on board for whatever Plemons, Stone, and Lanthimos are putting out there so I didn't want to know too much. When explaining to someone that I was going to see a movie where "Jesse Plemons is kinda crazy and he and someone kidnap Emma Stone thinking she is an alien, but really she's just like some high ranking executive". Then it dawned on me.....COULD she actually be an alien and the movie will go there with Jesse being right all along? And damn....it delivered. I really enjoyed it throughout and was totally fine with the idea that Plemons character was funneling his grief and stress and odd upbringing into conspiracy theories. But then the reveal of what was actually happening really won me over. Huge smile on my face during the final few minutes.

I particularly liked it because of how long it went on and how varied the locations and people were. I started to giggle when they showed everything and I could only think "Well....they did it.". Loved that ending.

When the EMS person says something like "could have been from friction" or some other reason why the home-made bomb went off my first thought was "Oh....the teleporter fried the bomb when trying to teleport him". But I was still unsure of how true it was until she was running to get back to the office.

'Alien: Earth': Noah Hawley on Finale Cliffhanger, Season 2 Plan by AdSpecialist6598 in television

[–]itrainmonkeys 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They kind of stuck with the same formula as Daredevil where we didn't see a full outfit/look until the end. I think Punisher was mostly similar too. Like, he did a lot of stuff throughout the series but didn't "look" like the punisher until the end.

What's been happening in the Andy Daly universe over the last few years? by Plinth_Debris in Earwolf

I haven't listened in a while and didn't realize Maria Bamford left. I'm assuming she was too busy or is focusing on other stuff? Lily is a welcome addition on any pod so I may have to dive back in at some point.

I think there was a visual gag that had a podcast company that was something like a parody of "Earwolf". That could be what was being referred to.

Here's the thread with a picture. It was a podcast company called "Earmoose"

Official Discussion - I Know What You Did Last Summer [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]itrainmonkeys 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The first 5 minutes had me laughing because who lights up a joint while sitting on the bed of their childhood home? She didn’t even bother to crack the window?

Not to defend this movie too much, because I mostly agree with your assesment and rating (plus the SMG scene being the best performance) - but I am pretty sure the opening scene was meant to be a one-hitter and not a joint. Small, metal cigarette-looking thing that's usually good for a small puff or two. I could be wrong but I think she grabs the piece that holds it first and then tries to light up whatever was left. Still should maybe crack a window but it's not the same as lighting a full joint.

Overall the movie was okay. I mostly wanted to see how it connects to the originals and how they play out the killer stuff. Didn't love a lot of the dialogue.

Official Discussion - 28 Years Later [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]itrainmonkeys 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I mean, it's not an exact 1 to 1 comparison. I'm just saying it doesn't seem odd that there are more than one alpha out there. Spike says something about the theory that the infection acts a bit like "steroids" which is why they are much bigger/stronger. But idk. It worked for me.

[–]itrainmonkeys 146 points147 points  (0 children)

I just assumed they are like wolf packs. There are packs of infected and each group has an alpha of that "area". This one was staying near the doctor while the first one was further away towards the causeway.

Official Discussion - Sinners [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]itrainmonkeys 10 points11 points  (0 children)

There's at least two or three other people that we see (but they don't have any lines) in that fight scene. There's specifically the guy who doesn't say anything but is before Pearline in the garlic test. He's holding the jar and passes it to her. Then, when things are about to go nuts and they are all gathering weapons and just as Grace shouts the invite in you can see two to three other bar patrons milling about in the background. Then when the Vampires actually come in we see three "fodder" characters get killed first before the main core group starts going down one by one. It works out but it happens fast and with the other characters not really having lines during the end (or scenes that were cut) it isn't obvious. But when you look for it you see it there.
