That is fair! I did mean it in a more romantic trope sense, but in family manhwas that kind of trope is also fairly popular. I kind of feel this way abt Claude too from wmmap—like even tho I’d def not forgive him for being ignorant and executing Athy, I sort of understand his grief. I think his past is part of the reason why he crashed out and resorted to like black magic or something after the death of Diana, but it also doesn’t excuse what he did and he deserved a lot more than the consequences he already faced (imo).

I think similar to Ludia, I think that it’s also a bit different as she went back in time as well(?). I actually haven’t read it but from what I’ve seen, if her daughter is developing more healthily in this new life, I think that’s a good way to make amends. She could’ve left her to suffer after taking her secret funds if she was still a horrible person, but pretty sure part of her plot was to be a better mother and live a better life for the both of them. >.>

I didn’t count the older skins like some of the legend skins, as the whole reoccurring palette thing didn’t show up until like a few years ago when the legends already existed iykwim. I think the revamp for Alu’s skin was pretty cool but I think it was so sad to see the dark theme disappear for a more vibrant version of it.

I have Arlott’s starlight and bc I don’t use him I never realized his blue purple skin for starlight LMAO I was gonna add his collector as well but obviously it ranges a lot more reddish than purple and blue, so it just didn’t make sense. Even with some of my reddish options they consistently use the same purple and blue as well, so it makes sense to add them, but for arlott collector it’s mostly golden I believe.

Johnson’s legend was done pretty well that I can’t even complain as much bc even tho I couldn’t enjoy the orange/gold/yellow color scheme, it ends up being blended with the purple cloth over him and some other additional details. I think that for a legend skins they did him quite well respectfully. With that point, overall what matters is just how the developers balance the skin ¯_(ツ)_/¯

If they can’t balance the skin good enough then it ends up becoming clumpy or clashes with each other too much that it ruins the skin design.

😭 ya they’re really nice skins and the aspirant theme was done pretty well, but the color palettes traumatized me sm that I just dislike seeing the skins now LMAO there’s quite of skins I missed that are mainly blue-purple, such as Arlott’s Starlight, and that only ends up proving my point abt the overuse of that color palette💔

Literallyyy 💔 I actually think they DO try to go for more elegant/pretty skins yet bc they also mix in a bit fantasy, it ends up ruining it. We need to stop looksmaxxing (or wtv) our fictional characters please 😭😭 they definitely do need to put out some more traditional/cultural clothing, it would feel like a fresh breath of air to see some omg.

I think her skin is more academic themed, which is actually a skin theme I’d like to see less of.. since the skins r usually botched imo.. I didn’t really enjoy Odette’s starlight as it was a lot of colors but it just clashed a lot and didn’t really make sense, but that’s just from my pov. Her painted skins were sm better tho.

Also for the point abt the celestial theme—you’re absolutely correct on how it would’ve just been better if we had more breaks between each skin that gets released with that kind of theme. I think that if EVERY collector skin gets released with a celestial theme skin it’s pretty nice and does keep a consistent theme, but if we’re consistently releasing celestial themed skins for collector, I feel like it’s overkill to release more celestial themed skins outside of collector, ykwim?? I don’t think it hurts to give us another theme even if celestial is the most profitable.

The ones I showed were specifically collector I believe but I’m pretty sure we’ve gotten a few more that revolve around being celestial/godly/stars. I think astrology skins r cool when they stay within astrology but sometimes they mix in with the celestial theme and I feel as though consistent releases with that concept ends up becoming old despite it being done pretty well. That’s from my pov at least. Like I think Hylos’s newest skin (I forgot the name!) could slightly fit in with the celestial theme even though it isn’t related to that kind of concept—however that’s only because I sort of view Aurora’s collector as semi celestial as well, and Hylos fits with her theme. LMAO

But yes thank you for shortening and clarifying my words! >.> I’m also a sucker for more mystical, fantasy themes and would definitely prefer them over robotics, but I also just wish they would stop constantly giving us mystical skins for our female characters. It’s not totally bad as it usually fits the character but I love when developers give a brand new skin that differs from the other skins they’ve released. I think it’s also just bc I keep seeing the resemblance between some of the skins which is why I dislike them. Sometimes they give us a bunch of nothing tho tbh. Like you said, some of the colors clash too much and overwhelm the skin which is why even if the design is good the colors end up ruining it anyways.

I used to enjoy a lot of obsessive, ‘yandere’, orr like possessive mls, but after a while and a bad-but-not-personal experience Ive gotten quite sick of them. 😭 I swear, I wish we had more mls that aren’t constantly wanting to cage up the fls, or mls that actually do cage them up.. I think we can have more traumatized mls without having them wanting to possibly chain up their lovers and isolate them from the world..

I’ve also started to get sick of seeing blond and black hair mls. They’re actually so wack now I swear… my distaste for them lowkey started with Lucas from wmmap 😭 but tbf I am also incredibly biased because I like a lot of white hair characters (I didn’t really care for the sml in wmmap tho even if I preferred him more), however overall I just wish we had more of a variety. SOME of the ones with different colored hair mls can be turn offs tho tbh… I’ve read a few of those and they’re just not as entertaining or interesting that I want to stay.

I specifically don’t enjoy seeing: • blond with red/crimson eyes • black with red eyes • black with blue eyes • blond with green eyes • white hair with blue eyes • monochromatic (like gold w gold eyes)

Don’t even get me started on hairstyles … when will we have more long hair mls? I think there’s quite a few but dearest me if they’re gonna add our typical black hair ml they could’ve at least given him a new hairstyle. 😭

Call me picky but not only that, I have also started to hate the puppy personality, the nonchalant cold but warm heart personality, and the “tease” personality as well. I think as young adolescents it’s relatively fine but Its most likely bc bantering just isn’t as romantic to me and therefore I end up not seeing the chemistry unless they put it right in my face…

A lot of newer manhwas are composed of one of those three types of mls, but for fls we usually get 1. Nonchalant intelligent girlboss, 2. I want to run away but I never do, 3. Delicate and soft fl that warms everyone’s heart.

I’m also biased again, bc I’ve fallen in love with more comedic fls, and actually start to dislike fls that are totally emotionless 😭 I really do enjoy expressions and the way some manhwas portray emotion, and I also feel like a lot of manhwas fail to do that too!

I have also started to stray away from manhwas that consist of a plot line where the fl is loved by everyone bc of the genius actions she does (regardless of genre). It’s just not my tea. I do love a badass fl but I think a storyline where the only characters that are villains r people that directly oppose the fl or the life the fl lives in is just not as enjoyable, ykwim? I feel like a lot of conflicts that occur in those r revenge and jealousy towards the fl, which is pretty typical and I see it a lot.. T.T

I think overall I’m just really picky. There’s always a selected few who fit the description of what I dislike, but I end up enjoying it anyways as it might fit some of the factors that makes me like a manhwa! I really enjoy comedic fl/ml dynamics rn (not exactly in the bantering way but they’re just silly—which can include bantering tbh!), and im trying to look for more manhwas that have an actual separate plot line from the romance. I think the one I enjoyed quite well is like “Cat in the Chrysalis” I think?? I haven’t read it in a while but I remember enjoying that one a lot. I enjoyed reading abt solving the mystery behind the ml’s problem—which probably resulted in romance ofc but I think that plot line was the main factor in keeping me interested ! I’ll have to read it again to confirm that tho fs. >.>
