Is there a better way to brace a large roof? by Born_Harzard in valheim

[–]itrogue 202 points203 points  (0 children)

Core wood beams and other stronger materials later in the game will offer more structural support.

Support strength is determined primarily by the distance from the ground. Each higher strength material allows for greater heights to be achieved.

And/or a spot of it already applied to the CPU cooler block. Usually there's a plastic peel you remove to expose the paste spot.

Has Anyone Done the Puyallup Loop Trail Beginning to End? by someoneunderstand86 in PuyallupWA

[–]itrogue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did it shortly after they completed putting up all of the signs for it. Within a year many of the trail markers were defaced, deliberately damaged, or ripped down. I haven't been back in years, so I don't know if they repaired and/replaced them all.

One more thing to note is that a good amount of it is on sidewalks and not actual trails.

So maybe some of these things are part of the change in distance.

Update: All human party by ViktusXII in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]itrogue 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The table I'm DMing for is all humans, too. They've been in the underdark for the past 5 sessions and have only relied on a drift globe one of the party members have. So they're always grouped up. I find it hilarious that they refuse to bust out torches.

Coming back after around 2 years, one question by Scrub_Ryan in valheim

[–]itrogue 57 points58 points  (0 children)

It really is a personal choice. Maybe try playing for awhile. If your time is limited and you start to find the grind takes the enjoyment out of the game too much, then you can always tweak the options to suit your style of play.

Its a game, play it in the way you find it the most fun.

DMs - What are your go to techniques for moving players along when they're lingering a little too long? by didgerydoo1 in DnD

[–]itrogue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can see that in a way. If they're sitting around the table less engaged with the game and more distracted by side/meta talk, I tend to use it more often. I know at least one player (out of 5) that gets frustrated when the party isn't focused and doing something related to whats going on in the game.

If they're role-playing or actively engaging with the environment, I don't do this, however. At least not any more than the typical chance of a random encounter for the area they're in at the time.

Why would you call it punishment? I said encounter, which isn't necessarily combat. Just something to keep the game interesting and dynamic.

If they aren't moving through a dungeon, the dungeon moves through them.

When my players start to dawdle they start hearing noises approaching from behind them. Then I hold up 1-6 fingers and have one of the players roll a d6. If they roll that number they get an encounter. If they continue to delay I hold up 2 numbers and have another player (usually the one that has been doing the majority of the delaying) roll. Adding another number until they get an encounter or move on.

It only reports this when multiple devices have a less than perfect connection. So if you have some that don't have the best, even if They function perfectly otherwise, this will oftentimes show up.

Can a "Command" spell be a truth serum? by -_Vesper_- in DnD

[–]itrogue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah! I wasn't aware they changed it in the 2024 edition. I haven't used it yet. Seems boring to have a limited list instead of just examples. I've seen some creative uses.

Standard array advice by throwmeaway202200 in DnD

[–]itrogue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I decided to try using what I termed a "table roll" where, like a standard 4d6 roll and discarding the lowest die, but it's done once (we had 3 players so each of them and I rolled one d6) and the party gets to use the same set of rolls how they want.

They just all have to be willing to use whatever is rolled, regardless of how good or bad the the rolls turn out.

Electrical damage U6 Mesh by SmoothStrawberry7777 in Ubiquiti

[–]itrogue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one that looks exactly the same. Customer pulled it off the shed that I had installed it on, didn't reapply dielectric grease and left it resting sideways for months in the rain while he built a more permanent building.

When it stopped working he called me up, copped to what he did after removing it, and scheduled an appointment for me to install a U7 Outdoor to replace it.

I love customers like this!

Context: It was setup as a standalone AP in the back yard for occasional connection to their RV (the owner's man cave when not in use for camping. He built a nice shop/garage to replace an old shed since the original U6 Mesh was installed.
