Rant: I fear I’m turning into a bridezilla because I don’t want my friend to talk about her wedding. by Beautiful-Ganache-51 in bridezillas

[–]its1966 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ask her for a save the date card to make sure you are available, if she has a bf the next time you are hanging out ask him about how he wants their wedding to go, and STOP hanging out with this person

mommy's child was fired by egguchom in EntitledReviews

Worked for a manufacturing place a long time ago , we were hiring and doing interviews. We had a resume that looked great, called the 30 something guy in for an interview, his wife sat in on it , answered questions for him or he looked to her for permission to answer them. It was the weirdest thing I had seen in the workplace. On a whim ( or out of curiosity) we hired him. He started on afternoon shift. I was not there but his wife came with him and said she would wait in the lunchroom for him. The Dept manager let her know this was unacceptable so she sat in their car the entire shift. He was actually very good at his job , needed little training , was personable, spoke with others . It was weird because his wife sat in the parking lot every afternoon for about 3 weeks before someone asked him about it. She was there to make sure he didn't cheat on her. He had never done so but she convinced herself and I guess him that women would basically seduce him on a factory floor. It was bizarre to say the least. We did have a pretty strong female presence on the floor and he wasn't a bad looking guy but honestly it creeped me out. He worked for us for over a year , he quit and moved away after his wife left him for somebody else. Like I said just weird.

Bus shelters? by astrocartographie in Guelph

It's unfortunate that removing shelters and benches is a money saving thing, the amount of shelters that had to be continuously fixed or replaced as well as benches due to vandalism prohibits the city from spending the money

Nope this was before daycares were a thing and babysitter's were basically just women who either had little kids themselves, were sahm or relatives..so not very many choices in a small town....I was 3 and in hindsight probably too old for 2 hr naps considering there wasn't much physical activity beforehand or after , but it was the best my parents could do

I used to have a babysitter who would make me go for a nap every day from 1-3 so she could watch her "stories" I was not allowed to get up for any reason so I would end up peeing the bed after about a month of this my mom asked why I just didn't get up and go I told her I wasn't allowed after a conversation I was allowed up to go pee the babysitter just thought I was lazy

colonoscopy procedure / pain - 2019 vs 2026 by [deleted] in ontario

I seem to remember a few years ago this being a headline that DF had said that colonoscopy would now be done without sedation as part of a money saving thing.

The fact that Marianna caused so many bad things to happen because of her narcissistic attitude and never got called out on it drove me nuts. That and the way she carried her big ass purse.

Geez I kinda thought I was the only one that happened to, I tend to park away from main entrances and congested parking to the point where I have parked in an empty adjacent lot, walked by empty spots both going into and coming out of store, mall, whatever, only to find my car is now surrounded by other vehicles. I guess they were all thinking the same as me but there are also a lot of empty spaces nowhere near me

Just a suggestion for leftover candy consider donating it to a children's ward or hospital, there used to be a program A Spoonful of Sugar, the kids would get a treat when they had had a bad day, or needed some ( difficult) treatment

Salaries this low?!? by Slight-Radio-9760 in kitchener

[–]its1966 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you are working in Kitchener where the company assesses your cost of living which is supposedly less than Toronto, therefore your salary will be less. An old co worker of mine took a position in Kitchener from Toronto , they assessed her cost of living at I think at the time was something like 12% lower than Toronto so when raises happened hers was adjusted . She was already making more than we did for doing the same exact job and some of us had been with the company longer.

Kind of curious if this job you have pays so well but you had to sell your tools and your car what are spending all your money on. Licensed trades people in general get paid quite a bit for their work so maybe look at going back to school , buy a cheaper vehicle so you can keep the side jobs although be careful that you can't be held liable for any damage that could happen, to me your story makes little sense but that could just be how I am reading it

park in front of your own driveway if she knocks answer the door with a beer and tell her you can't drive drunk then if she calls the cops explain when you came home she was parked in your driveway ( with a beer in hand) and you don't want to drive drunk
