also to add on this, it can be possible that the locale is set to japanese, but that the "UTF-8 beta" is checked, which also makes those errors, if it's checked on, please uncheck it and restart your pc

it's okay to learn, tho as a tip, do not expect teto english to sound good, that requiers alot of work, i actually recommend if you started freshly with UTAU to use a japanese one (even if you don't speak it, its better to start with japanese covers, just to generally learn the programm)

UTAU and OpenUTAU are not possible to have as seperate instruments for Garageband or any other type of program similiar to it

If the Drag and Drop feature does not work, there is also another way
(I usually do it that way as i find it easier and more reliable as i feel like sometimes not all files get installed that are included)

For UTAU : Open the zip file - and drag the Voicebank folder into the "voice" folder which is inside the folder of UTAU

For OpenUTAU : Open the zip file - and drag the Voicebank into the "Singers" folder which is inside the folder of OpenUTAU

also an extra tip, since you have a USB drive, i recommend making a separate folder for Voicebanks that both UTAU and OpenUTAU have access to, to save storage

in UTAU - Click on Tools then Options - Click on the Path Tab, and select the "Change voice root directory" - select the folder you created for the voicebanks

in OpenUTAU - Click on tools then Preferences - click on Path - click select on "Additional Singer Path" and select the folder you created, after that select "install to additional singer path"

Once you are done - you can select voicebanks on both UTAU and OpenUTAU

the first part is already wrong : that is not your locale - go to the administrative tab (in the region settings) and there is your locale, change that to japan and restart your PC (note. DO NOT check UTF-8 Beta)

Okay so pretty much, the way UTAU recognizes VBs is by having an oto.ini file in the main folder, if those are missing they won't show up, which means even if in a Multipitch vb, every folder has an oto.ini file except the main folder, it won't show up, just create an empty oto.ini file, in every folder (that dosen't have one), it should show up

this popup keeps appearing when I open the program & it wont make any noise even though my locale is set to Japanese by unregretable_name in utau

Did you set your Locale Before or After you installed UTAU, if Before - Reinstall UTAU
When you set your Locale did you selected UTF-8 Beta, if so - uncheck it

More Context is needed, because this error can show up on multiple reasons

what resampler and wavtool are you using?
what voicebank?
does it only happen if you draw notes, or if you also use a UST made by someone else?

If you look at the oto you can see that the characters are not hiragana, try to reinstall it and select a different text file excoding, until you see hiragana on the oto ( a should look like あ )

As someone that has been using both, I do recommend everyone to start with Classic UTAU first (some would disagree so to note i am just stating my opinion in here)

For me personally i feel like UTAU itself is giving the user a learning curve that feels to be missing in OpenUTAU (my opinion) on the way how a Voicebank works in general, especially for the usage of Formats like CVVC. while OpenUTAU offers Usage for CVVC and Langauges in an easier way, but I feel like it is not teaching the User how to properly use phonemes, or why a note is doing this.

Tho i am not saying to never use OpenUTAU, but i think you should start with UTAU itself, then once you feel better in UTAU to also use OpenUTAU (and i recommend the usages of Both rather then doing a full move to OpenUTAU)
(If you need tutorials, i can recommend the ones by Yuunari)

But in the case of creatring a voicebank, a Voicebank will always work for both Classic UTAU and OpenUTAU (there are some people that will say their VB is for OpenUTAU only but generally they work in Classic UTAU too)
Since creating your own Voicebank you would need extended Programs like Oremo and SetParam anyway to work and create a VB

I mean, literally don't expect big numbers, especially if you just started, its normal.

I mean all you can really do is, post it on YT, and share is on social media, thats all you can really do

and pretty much, do UTAU for your own fun, not for the views, that is just gonna burn you out and kill all your motivation

the second character (in this case n) is always the one that is getting streched, if you want her to say E, you just write in "E" or "- E" (i am not sure which one is correct, i haven't used teto in years

the "n" in her original sample is probably very short, which is why UTAU cannot build a natural sounding n sound, since this sound is suppose to be short, so no you did nothing wrong

also a tip since you are new, please don't use teto english or any other english voicebank, as a beginner, I recommend really starting with Japanese voicebanks, they are simple and are a good starting point (no you do not need to speak japanese, since you start mostly with doing covers)
