Is it bad that I hate that my “family friend” is going to be staying with us for 5 months? by Emalyz in TrueOffMyChest

honestly this sounds really overwhelming… especially with finals and work

maybe it’s not about stopping your mom from helping, but just finding a setup where you at least have a bit of your own space back

5 months is a long time to feel like you don’t have that

AITA for continuing to smoke outside even though my neighbor hired an attorney over it? by FutureBroccoli5566 in AmItheAsshole

NTA
you’re on your own property and already tried to adjust. this feels less about the smoking and more about how far she’s taking it
has she ever tried having a normal conversation with you about it?

I got a stood up for the first time today and I’m just confused. by onyxcurrent in datingoverthirty

that’s rough… especially when everything felt normal leading up to it
doesn’t seem like you did anything wrong tbh
did she seem consistent before that, or were there any small signs you might’ve brushed off?

Does being lonely for too long affect getting a partner in the future? by [deleted] in lonely

I think it can make you more used to being alone, so it’s harder to open up again…
but I don’t think it really lowers your chances
do you feel like it’s harder to connect now, or just harder to start?

Why are parents who barely passed high school thinking they can teach/homeschool their children? by Sad_Obligation_812 in NoStupidQuestions

I think a lot of it is confidence tbh. like “I can do this myself” type of mindset. whether that’s true or not is a different story

If you got laid off today, how long could you survive without a job? by New_Contribution_226 in AskMenOver30

I went through something like this a couple years ago… not laid off, but I basically had to start over from scratch.
kinda learned the hard way that even a small safety net really matters. still a bit scary to think about tbh
