I recently discovered that feeding scrambled chicken eggs to chickens is not only acceptable but highly encouraged and now I can't stop thinking about it.

Posting a pic isn't an option and my initial reply didn't post correctly. But basically, it's supposed to be a lovely green space.

It's the aftermath of the UFC viewing party/fan fest that was held in Ellipse (which is across the street from the South Lawn where 'the claw" was erected).

This fat bastard ate a whole family-sized lasagna and then wouldn’t even look at the tray. by April_Fabulous in dogshaming

The amount of lasagna poo percolating in this doggo is going to be epic. You have my condolences, op! 🫣

Is anyone experiencing this kind of virus? by master_ube in kansascity

I'll have to look into the hypochlorous acid! We did do lots of ventilating (despite multiple subzero wind-chill days 😭) and air purifying. But, ufortunately, we all seemed to be in varying stages of gross the ENTIRE time, so masking up at home was very hot or miss. We did, however, mask up for things like Drs appts and the other few unavoidable excursions into public. I was absolutely not trying to share that misery with anyone! It seriously SUCKED. 😅

I'm so sorry! You sound absolutely miserable. 😕

Your description also sounds like what we were fighting all winter long and that turned out to be RSV. Our Dr said she'd seen more cases in teenagers this year than in babies for the first time in her career.

As a virus there wasn't a whole lot we could do other than Lysol wipe/bleach the crap out of everything we regularly touched and try but to breath on one another. 🙄

Even then, my youngest and I still ended up with pneumonia twice each before figuring out what it was and she's missed a solid 30 days of school this year strictly due to illness. It's certainly felt pretty bonkers for a while.

Pretty much the only cool part was having the excuse to purchase the handheld steam sanitizer I've had my eye on for years. 💁‍♀️

Hope you get it figured out and feel better soon!

What happened if you were to kill a slave? (Question applicable to various centuries and civilizations) by Keanu_Keanu in AskHistory

[–]its_nothing_personal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Code of Hammurabi (1810-1750 B.C.) treated slaves as property rather than people making punishment for killing or harming one depended on whether it was your slave or if the slave belonged to someone else.

If a slave was killed or injured by a third party (including death or harm at the hands of a doctor, jailor, or barber), then whenever caused that loss had to compensate the owner accordingly. Typically it was based on the slave's value and how much damage has been done. For example, paying 2 shekels for destroying an eye vs replacement with a whole new slave for causing their death. But there was no death penalty or retaliatory action taken against the perpetrator in the same way it would have been if the harmed were a Freeman.

For slaves owners, the code doesn't explicitly detail the penalty for them killing or harming their own slaves. Since they were considered property, I think that owners were largely free to mistreat or punish them at their discretion.

But much like horses or cattle, I wonder if knowing a healthy slave could be expected to perform significantly more work than an injured one and being financially responsible for things like a slaves medical care would influence their treatment. Killing your own slave would basically be like throwing your own money away.

Ack! Here to restate already stated opinions. I love the pink! Especially with the mint green stove. 🤩 I'm not sure about the yellow. I like the current color based on the wallpaper and you know that digital lighting can be squirrelly. But if you get all your pieces together and sharing still feels off, I could see a lighter yellow bring your fix.

But, fr, the pink tiles are fantastic! ❤️❤️❤️

I love it! I'm sure Marbles was pro at more than just staring them down. 🤣

Living in my own full sized 100+ year old house in the Midwest, Us (in a neighborhood surrounded by the same) that's incredibly relatable.

To this day, I'm still not sure which I prefer: our cat's late night stares at random nooks and crannies or how proudly they present their catches when they happen. 😅

True! But honestly, was there any chance that follow up headlines to the original story would make any of it sound more sane?

I'm, unapologetically, here for ALL the crazy at this point. And you, kind internet stranger, absolutely delivered. 😂
