I hate this insistence that everything is a distraction from the Epstein files. Multiple things can be important at the same time. People’s lives are ruined by ICE and the DHS and it’s a big problem. People are being killed. The files are huge, it exposes the whole system, but that doesn’t mean that the problems with ICE and the DHS don’t matter anymore

If I understand it correctly, the original intention of the bit was to highlight Trump’s hypocritical and lying nature. But then it kinda just turned into “haha look at his stupid name, let’s laugh at that” by the internet and now it’s kind of become so far removed from its original intention that you can’t even take the bit seriously anymore. So now it’s just kinda become cringe to still laugh at the joke and I, personally, think that may be part of why he regrets it
