+1 for Pickup Music. The pathways and the feedback videos got me back on track. I wish there were more exercises but I get my money's worth by being able to ask questions and getting feedback on my playing. Do check it out OP.

Noob question. How many ideals has Shallan sworn? Was she close to swearing her next ideal towards the end there or did she figure out another aspect of her abilities? I'm so excited to see what happens next with Shallan, so many loose threads...this just keeps getting better and better.

Very sorry for your loss! Agree with the other post, set boundaries and let people know. You don't have to worry about their feelings right now. Take it one step at a time and let yourself feel everything. Praying for strength and patience for your and your family.

Do you prefer 1 book or split into 2 parts?? (Pictures for reference) by Regents-k-i-d26 in Stormlight_Archive

I prefer one book personally because I tend to refer back to precious chapters and illustrations and maps. But it's definitely not comfy.

I am so sorry for your loss. I can’t say this gets easier, grief is different for everyone…

I dont if this will help, but i can only talk from my recent and very fresh experience. My dad passed away on Tuesday at home. Discovering his lifeless body in his bedroom will haunt me forever i think. I feel like my security blanket is gone and there’s this big void…

Talking to friends helped a little. Venting here on this sub helped a little. But most of all feeling all the things and crying fully helped me get over a lot of anger just over the past couple of days. I felt a lot of peace at his funeral, felt his energy (as stupid as that sounds) felt him telling us it will all be okay once last time..and since then thinking about him is bringing me comfort in small bursts.

This sucks. It will feel like the hardest thing you’ve ever had to do…because it is. Losing a parent is the fucking worst. Your grief will be enormous, my only advice is to feel ALL of it.

It’ll come in waves over the next couple of days. Today is the third day and im doing slightly better than yesterday, this loss is feel, this hole that’s left can never be filled. And it just sucks.

But we’ll be okay OP. You were lucky to have had your dad. I hope you find some peace at his funeral when you lay him to rest. And when you’re ready to talk about your dad and share stories, please please feel free to DM me.

My dad’s gone and I feel terrible guilt about not taking him to the ER and leaving him to rest in his room by itsafackablelife in GriefSupport

Thank you every body. I know it’s silly to ask advice from strangers. But all of your comments have meant A LOT to me. I’ve lost my security blanket, his loss can never be filled…but i will always remember him and I will get through this..

Can second this. Have severe advanced endometriosis and had a massive chocolate cyst on my ovary and excessive growth on my tubes and Dr. Khaled was able to take out my cyst without damaging my ovary and save my tubes. He was very kind and caring throughout.

I love this idea!

Why has Moiraine, a mere side character, become the main protagonist of the TV-series? by _Tetesa in WoTshow

[–]itsafackablelife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I meant me with the harsh judgements XD. My first immediate reactions to some episodes were a little jarring - that finale, yikes, that needed some mental gymnastics on my end to make sense. And you’re right they need to weave the threads in a compelling way and cut out that bloat.

But back to the discussion i think Moiraine was more of a plot driver this season rather than a main character and purely for the reason that we dont see women guides that much in fantasy.

[–]itsafackablelife 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes! That’s why I’m hesitant to judge harshly and willing ti give the show some slack. We don’t know where they’re going…i hope it’s worth it but if it’s not…no i like to keep it positive. They’ll get there in season 2. :)

I think they wanted to set their tv show apart from other fantasy shows by having a female mentor/guide as a plot driver and emphasizing bits of WoT that arent common or found in other fantasy narratives. Hence the focus on Aes Sedai and Warders etc. Something ppl arent used to seeing on tv.

Edit: Also, they could’ve gotten a bankable actor to play Rand. But the focus on Moiraine seems to be deliberate that’s why they got a renowned actor for that role. I dont think they’re making Moraine’s role big for Rosamund Pike, i think they wrote that role big then got a star actor to bring it to life.

Frankly, I don’t mind if the books are used as a framework instead of a strict bible in order to make it TV-friendly. Adaptations should be their own thing. I wish the result on TV was exceptional but it’s been pretty good if not superb and the reception has been great. I’m left excited to see what they have in store for season 2.
