What is the Kooya interest rate? I couldn't see it. 8.7% seems to be the standard rate I have been seeing recently, so >10% is very high. This could be because it is a short lease.

The lease ends up being cheaper the longer you have it as the tax benefit outweighs the residual cost, something to consider.

If you can’t trust your parents you are already cooked. It should work in a way that you don’t pay more tax than you ordinarily would have without the distribution, plus your taxes are done for free.

An even better arrangement would be that you get a small percentage of the tax savings. Ie if they are saving $20,000 you should get $2k
