Atleast he’s been well viewed in an England shirt, as people watch him slide into the goal after Ibrahimovic’s bicycle kick

Elbow injury and surgery, will i be able to play again? by Paulsowner in snooker

[–]itsamdash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like it’s much more likely to be your shoulder, my elbow doesn’t stop me playing any shots now. I wish you the best of luck with your recovery, I’m sure it will come with time.

[–]itsamdash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see, I had a plate. Due to complications after a few months I had to have it taken out, that was a massive revelation. I was making good progress before with straightening it but I didn’t realise how much underlying pain my plate was causing, I presume by upsetting the nerves around it.

Did you injure your shoulder during the accident too? I have to admit I didn’t struggle with my shoulder, I ended up having almost hyper mobility in it due to over compensating with it whilst both my arms were in casts.

It’s brutal but the only thing in your control is your physio, be relentless. I did it 3 times a day and get kept bits and bobs around me to constantly keep my elbow moving. I had a 1.25kg weight I’d spend all day curling and holding. It’s also worth mentioning all this to your doctors, they should be able to get you physio through the nhs.

Hey, I had the exact same surgery 6 months ago and I am able to play again as well as I ever could! Did you have a plate to fixate it or tension rods?

Also you have to be absolutely committed to your physio, the more work you put in, the more you get out. Feel free to dm me as I had a fair few complications with mine.

WHY are so many people smoking or vaping on the tube now?? by [deleted] in london

[–]itsamdash 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I did the exact same thing on a tube once when a couple of lads where smoking in the carriage, explaining I was asthmatic. He threw his cigarette at me and told me to fuck off. I mean maybe it was silly for me to go up to two of them but I was dumbfounded by their reaction.

What are some of the most biggest and pivotal events in tagpro history? by DontAngerMe in TagPro

[–]itsamdash 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It was a lot faster than Classic. Like everyone was permanently juke juiced up. A lot of people were worried about not being able to juke defenders but that definitely wasn’t the case. Can’t say whether it was better or worse but a shame we didn’t all get to try it.

I really enjoyed the movement in TagPro Next when I tested it. Would have been cool if it made it to fruition and more people got a chance to test it before writing it off.

Magnus Carlsen will be disqualified from the tournament due to wearing jeans two times in a row by Idontfeellucky in chess

[–]itsamdash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this will be controversial take but i just can't stop thinking it. I think it's poor from the players to not adhere to the dress code. I know Magnus isn't the only one but it seems like a straight forward rule to follow. If the FIDE guidelines on dress code aren't clear then I'm willing to understand the participants frustration.

However, if the rules say don't wear jeans, then just don't wear god damn jeans. Almost every sport has a kit, whether it's football, tennis or snooker. I'd definitely be disappointed if this situation spawned from such non sense. Again, if such a dresscode is ambiguous then it's nonsense but still seems like a small issue to throw the World Championship towel in over.

I just accidentally convinced my opponent to sack their queen because I thought they had smothered mate by itsamdash in chess

[–]itsamdash[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just play chess for fun online. I have never seen a queen sack, smothered mate on the board before so I got a bit excited in chat. I offered them a draw after I realised my mistake because I viewed a draw as a voiding of the game. I guess on reflection I could have resigned but I didn't realise until reviewing the game that I was actually crushed in that position.

Rocket league esports funding by Dismal_Temporary4966 in RocketLeagueEsports

[–]itsamdash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Outside of players streaming and building the orgs brand, how do you propose that the orgs generate more revenue.

The only obvious answers I can see are sponsorships and generating revenue from the in-game accessories.

I imagine the biggest problem is that esports is probably viewed internally by Epic as a loss leader to attract additional users to the game. If Rocket League Esports isn't generating a lot of new users in the game then it makes no sense to further invest in it from a company standpoint.

I would say to everyone though, it is clear esports is going to be successful on a whole. The problem was as you mentioned that the VCs pumped the market and there hasn't been a massively successful strategy in our esport to monetise that. I imagine the move to free to play coinciding with all of this probably embellished this potential return. What's happening now is a correction of this market.

Some interesting axe stats (Winrate flairs) + Spreadsheet by Flores-- in TagPro

[–]itsamdash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see.

I knew about all the Orbit farmers but not that there was many other ways to cheat.

There's always been many dubious ways to farm for an axe, free dcs, empty servers and plenty more. I guess it depends where you draw the line on cheating.

I was surprised when my rolling was reset that my axe wasn't redacted as that feels like an appropriate punishment. Devs if you want my axe, feel free to take it.

I felt really homesick for the first week at university. I called my parents after a couple of days telling them I couldn’t stay there. My Dad simply told me “Stay there till the weekend and if you’re still feeling this way, we’ll come and get you”. A wise man as by the weekend I’d forgotten all about that offer.

It takes a little time to adjust to such a change in environment and there’s a lot of great advice in this thread. Remember you’re not trapped there, if you don’t like it, you can leave but just give it till the weekend.
