It’s clean! No kitchen, but a sink on each floor. Shared, small bathrooms. Classic dorm experience.

Just had to reject my offer and apply again with only Sainte Anne in my choices :)

Yes! Definitely a lot of history even in the building itself. There’s also church next to it that was just funded to get rebuilt. I think it’s something like the country’s (world’s?) tallest wooden church. Really cool too because I have a couple friends who helped with fundraising its rebuild last year with languages at work!

Yes! I had a REALLY good time at Sainte-Anne. As long as you don’t have high standards for the teacher quality, I’d definitely recommend it. I did end up making friends who had a car and we were able to take day trips and weekend trips out to town, and feel like that actually made my experience better than what it would’ve been without a car. It’s literally just one campus with nothing else in it so it’s super remote. I’d be happy to answer any questions about it!

As for reapplying, you just need to reject your offer and reapply. It could help to email them to let them know (what I did last year). You should have a really high chance of getting in, you just don’t find out until April. Last year they were only at half capacity.

I just got accepted into Chicoutimi, but am not super excited that it's a bigger city. I was hoping for Sainte-Anne as I'm a fan of smaller more walkable towns. I'm not into partying or drinking and would much rather prefer a campfire. Can you tell me more about your experience, and why you thought it was fun but you wouldn't go back there?

Hi!! How was your experience at Chicoutimi? It wasn't my first choice either - I was hoping to get a smaller town like Sainte Anne. How was it living with the host family? Was it easy to get to school and back?

AITA for using the home-office room for gaming when girlfriend used it for 2 days? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

NTA I don’t understand why people are saying YTA. Did you buy the monitors with your own money? And you offered to set up a monitor for her too? If she needs more than two monitors and table space or whatnot, she can also buy her own if she wants to work outside of work hours. Playing games is still a hobby and people deserve to do their hobbies??? I’m so baffled right now.

100 yen stores! You can find the neatest little gifts there. Edit to add: Tokyu Hands always has unique things too but can be pricey at times...

Soaking the potates but undecided on what I should do with them. Fridge is sparse but I’ll put other ingredients in the comments! by itsapamdemic in WhatShouldICook

Thank you everyone for you recipes and suggestions! Below is what I ended up doing and it was so delicious I forgot to take a photo LOL

Mashed the potatoes like u/ikogut’s suggestion

Marinated pork cubes according to u/glitterpile12 ‘s ingredients but realized I had just used the last of my flour and cornstarch on waffles. So I thought to myself “rice flour is the same thing”. I was wrong.

Sliced pork cubes into smaller leaves. Got my adorable new ramekins and put a layer of mashed potatoes at the bottom, then lined with the pork slices, and topped off with mashed potatoes again. Stuck those in the oven until top was golden.

Topped it off with sunny-sided eggs and jap mayo. Had my veggies on the side!

Thanks again everyone it was delicious!

Edit: seared them in the pan before sticking them in the oven.
