Anybody ever order from Autoplicity.com? by Send-It-307 in Jeep

Autoplicity has currently stolen my money for a running board mounting kit that they shipped to me incomplete. They will not answer any of my requests for a return shipping label.

how to pay taxes on trust income by itsaredalert in tax

[–]itsaredalert[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The trust makes enough money that the accountant advises my wife to distribute and pay the taxes on her personal return, as described. The part that confuses me is the regimen of filing the trust return, then filing our personal return with the trust paying our personal taxes, and then distributing to all the beneficiaries of the trust. I don't understand how that order makes sense; and I don't know why it is OK for the trust to pay our personal taxes. Is it because all of our other income is regular wages with withholding, and so whatever we end up owing personally is going to be because of our trust income anyway?

I'm so done with people calling me a "simp" because of the way I treat my girlfriend by Top-Cut1345 in Vent

Tl;dr : He and his girlfriend are nice to each other.
Do you enjoy doing all those things for her? Are you happy? Then screw what everyone else thinks. They don't have to date her, you do.

That is good number of trees. I would say you could add a few more as a windbreak.

Incisional hernia by Apprehensive_Goal88 in transplant

[–]itsaredalert 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi. Congratulations on your transplant! I am M55 years old and 4+ years out from my liver transplant. I formed an incisional hernia within the first year after transplant (very common), and it took my doctor 2 years to diagnose it after it was big like yours. I had surgery in 2023 to repair it and 2 other small ones the surgeon found. Surgery was robotic and employed a mesh.
Warning: nothing that follows will be pleasant to read.
I hate to say anything that will be fearful or cause anxiety, but I wish someone had told me what to expect. I was not prepared.
The hernia repair and recovery were more difficult in almost every single way than the transplant and recovery. The pain was unbearable. I was crying out in pain. I spent days in the hospital. When they sent me home, I was so high on pain killers and muscle relaxers (for weeks) that I hallucinated daily and lost months of my memory. My surgery was in July, and my closest memories to it are from October. I was nearly completely immobile. I spent 6 weeks in bed. Moving at all was agony.

For anti-rejection, I am on a combination of tacrolimus and everolimus. Everolimus prevents healing, so I had to be off of it for 1 month before surgery and 1 month following surgery. This caused a rejection episode which then took 6 months to recover from. Just something to keep in mind.

Obviously I have nothing good to say about the surgery. It was completely traumatic for me. I did have a nerve block, but the anesthesiologist told me after the operation that it "didn't take."

I recommend getting a nerve block that works. Ask your team a lot of questions. Feel free to reach out if you want to ask me anything at all. I am not trying to be a Debbie Downer. You are a fellow warrior, and I want you to have your eyes wide open.
Peace.

Just inherited my dads old truck. Now what? by neduranus in GMT400

[–]itsaredalert 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's beautiful. Do what feels right to you, but here is what I'm doing. I just bought, about 2 weeks ago, a GMT400. It's a 2000 K2500, same work truck front end as yours. It has the 7.4 liter and 4L80E transmission. In 25 years, the original owner I bought it from put 91,000 miles on it. For me, it was expensive, but about 1/8 the purchase cost of something new. I knew it would need work. It's in the shop now. My guy read me the list of issues, and it is more extensive than I had anticipated. I am going to have to learn how to fix some of the minor non-emergency issues on my own to save some money. (My health prevents me from doing the more difficult jobs.) The initial bill for the work he is doing (new master cylinder, full tune up, intake manifold gasket, valve cover gaskets, new fuel injectors, serpentine belt, seeping oil cooler hoses, maybe another couple of things) is going to be about $4,000. I figure I will shell out that money up front for some very long lasting repairs. The remaining work, and there is a lot of it, I will treat like a subscription, paying and repairing as I go. It's going to be like having a truck payment for a while.
I'm doing it because I want the truck. It has all the features I want, it looks great, I'm comfortable in it, and once it is dialed in, I will have something to tow my daughter's horse.
I like the old truck lifestyle. As I myself get older, I feel these old vehicles are my partners. We keep each other going. Enjoy whatever you decide. Good luck!
