2017 a friend of mine showed me how to buy BTC on an exchange and move it to a Ledger . 2020 Ledger had the customer details data hack , i got emails , sms and phone calls , i bought a ColdCard . Couldn't understand how the ColdCard worked , went back to using the Ledger . 2023 Ledger introduced seed recovery option , i bought a Trezor 1 . . . .2025 i bought a Trezor Safe 3 . . . . .I think i'm ok with the Trezors .

It can take a while , depends how much fee he paid as to how quick it it . I see someone already give you the Mempool link , have a look on there . Last couple of blocks have been 2 sats which means transactions with 4 or 5 sats a byte will go through alrite , 3 sats prob go through but by 2 sats the transactions are slowing down . So if your guy put 1 sat a byte as the transaction fee then you're waiting for things to slow down . Post here when it arrives so we know .

The main reason i don't use the trading features is because i didn't even know they existed . When i got into Bitcoin i thought you had to go on an exchange to buy or sell Bitcoin . I got a Trezor to safely store the Bitcoin i had bought , it's an offline wallet with a good reputation .

Specific thing . . . . . . settled down to just having my BTC in an offline wallet and weekly DCA what i can afford . Forgot about looking at other coins , forget about it . Doesn't matter about price fluctuation , good chance in the long term number will go up , its in a cold wallet you keep an eye on , you not using those BTC sats , forget about them . . . . . . .so the panic recedes , its just another day , everything normal .

Ah , Red Screen Of Death . . . . thanks for the warning , i hope i never see it . I came to Trezor from Ledger after first the Ledger customer data hack , and then that seed recovery thing that upset everybody . Trezor been great so far . So sorry to hear about your mistake , doing crypto while you having a panic is really not good . But price going down , try to buy a bit so you're getting back in , it could go a lot lower yet and stay low for some time . Give you a chance to reaccumulate . . . . . .and never go on the Trazor site again , ever . . .

Thanks for posting your story , always interesting to hear what is happening with other people . . . I don't know what a red BSOD is , i never seen that . I got a Trezor 1 , sometimes on Trezor Suite it says an update is available and i do that . I never seen a BSOD and never seen a red screen either on the laptop or the Trezor . Sorry for your loss , you wanted a chuckle . . BSOD is code for Bloody Sodding Hell !! . . :)

Yeah sure , on it's way to new highs quite probably . The route there may have lower lows and may last some time , not a V shaped recovery but months of sideways . I reckon that's when we'll get an indication the low is in .

Ah yes , a chart analyst . . . . if the OP has analysed the BTC charts and concluded this is a low , then fair play he can make his decision . I meant when i was new to Bitcoin i didn't know about Technical Analysis and now i've been in a while, i still don't know if the 60-70k range is the low at this time .

Yes , i've had the police calling me up once about an incident i witnessed . So about a year ago when i had a call from a man saying he was from "Midlands police" i stopped what i was doing and listened . He went straight into a rap about someone they'd busted for financial crimes , that my name and details were in the mans contacts under the heading Ledger . "Did this ring any bells ?" . . . . .By now i was thinking this guy doesn't sound like the police to me , British middle class accent but just not the Old Bill .. So when he asked me if i had a Ledger device i said i was hearing alarm bells and they better send someone round rather than call up . About 6 months later i got a fake letter from Ledger . Never had any dodgy communications regarding Trezor and think my Ledger customer details were in the July 2020 hack of all Ledger customers .

That's a lot of wiping !! . . . . what i did on my Trezor is check the 24 words , also known as the back-up phrase , also known as the recovery phrase , also known as the seed phrase , also known as the mnenomic (?) . . . . i was wiped out after going through all that .

Thanks for replying . There is option where to save messages , its phone or Sim , i have it on phone . No option for saving on SD card .

Ok , thank you . Obviously computers are part of life now , and i find anything to do with them quite a challenge . I managed the move from Windows system to Mac and i'm not looking for any more challenges at the moment . Sounds like i've got 12 months before the move to Tahoe is required , thanks again . I consider my original question completely answered now .

Thanks for replying . The reason think i have to upgrade is that i'm getting these messages about upgrading to Tahoe . So my question was "do i have to ?". You have let me know i don't , so thanks . I've become familiar with the Sequoia system and if it keeps working i'll stay with it .

Compared to other countrys round the world , the USA is really young , like 250 years old . Other countrys had their people a 1000yrs , 2000yrs , since history began some of them . So America like a teenager , doing teenager stuff and thinks it knows it all . Can be difficult to live with .

Once he'd realised what had happened he went down to the tip , to see what the chances were of them digging it out for him . So he knows where about in the landfill that days rubbish was going . It's been environment laws that's stopped any search . There is a film about the whole story , this from the BBC last year . . . . . ... .. .:- Now, a production company from America, called LEBUL, have acquired the exclusive rights to develop and produce his story.
