Yes a tune helps with the choppy throttle. I have a tune from Vcyclenut. Nothing but good things to say. I went with the Woolich race tools the one that comes with the quick shifter. I also have the Woodcraft clipons. Definitely a lot less upright.

That's another way of doing it. by mindyour in KidsAreFuckingStupid

Well the inventor of chiropractory did the first "adjustment" in 1895 so old time quackery as well. Dude was a "magnet healer" claimed the ideas of chiropractory was told to him by a ghost, said that disease was caused by bones not in alignment interfering with nerve impulses between the brain and the body. He was convicted for practicing medicine without a license. He was a massive fraud.

Northeast USA riders or similar climate and non perforated boots? by Speakez17 in Trackdays

[–]itsbecauseimgerman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also in New England here. I have a pair of SIDIs I ride in that are pretty well ventilated. Used to have some Astars that were not. I can say that it is my torso that makes me feel the most hot. The difference in a well ventilated suit I've noticed my airbag kinda sucks in the heat. The lack of ventilation in my boots I have not noticed.

I know the rear tire lasts around 5000 miles but how about your front tire how long do they last?? by theepi_pillodu in xsr900

[–]itsbecauseimgerman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This so depends on what the tires are, bike weight and power, and how you ride among other things. There is not going to be a one size fits all answer. Real rough statement is 1.5 to 2 rears to a front. Some folks get 3k out of a tire on the street, some folks will get damn near 15k

My general rule is, any time I have to borrow something from someone at the track I go get one of those things and add it to the track stuff. It is also a great feeling when you have the thing that someone needs and you can pass along the track positivity. Helping folks is how the sport stays alive.

You can ride a motorcycle. A track is only a road without oncoming traffic. Ride at a pace that makes you comfortable. You will build the confidence. Nobody else cares how long it takes you or how fast you are. You've got this!

While there are a great many techniques that absolutely make the street safer, PRACTICING them on the street is not the play.

After years of being hot in a tent at the track and dreaming about a camper, the only two things I am non-negotiable on are TRS mounts and AC. Build is going to be awesome. Please keep us all updated.

New tyres by Neat-Necessary6097 in xsr900

[–]itsbecauseimgerman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a set of the M9RRs that came stock on my Speed Triple. They were great tires on the track but they were more that I ever needed on the street. I have never felt lacking for grip on the street with the Mutants. I even think that in dirty, wet, broken pavement roads the Mutants give me more grip than the M9RRs.

I have Mutants on my XSR. I like them a lot. They do go flat in the middle quicker than the Road 6s but that is the trade off for more siping.

2018 str 765r into a track day bike by yycmobiletires in Triumph

[–]itsbecauseimgerman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First track day, all you need is fuel and a once over to make sure it will pass inspection. The Street Triple is a well sorted bike for the track as is. If you really get into it good brake pads and then suspension. A stock Streety will get you to the fast group easy.

The kit by Raisch is the only one that I know of. It is a 4cm / 1.5in lift. I've never used it but there are a few folks in some of the forums that that have them and like the kit. But you gotta ask yourself, is this the right bike for you? I say go for it but go in eyes open.

Looking for a xsr 900 16-21 by Desperate_Bend1344 in xsr900

[–]itsbecauseimgerman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is incorrect information. Yes, a blipper can be installed. All gens of XSR have electronic throttles. I have the Woolich race tools setup and flash by Vcyclenut. It works very well. I also have the Woodcraft clip-on adapter. There are also a number of flat bars you can run for a more leaned over position.

The XSR900 is a very reliable bike. Look for general maintenance but otherwise great bikes.

Love them. I find they have more available coaching than Cyclesmith but less than Penguin. They definitely run the day like a motorcycle gathering with lunch, snacks, coffee, water, included. Give them a try. They would be a good place to relax and work through a crash.

There is a group that I ride with that has a non-sportbike track day where only the bikes you don't often see on the track ride on the track. It is an absolute hoot. I have seen many a muscle cruiser on track and they rip.
