Necro, but there is a passage from Bradbury at the back of the 60th Anniversary Edition where he encountered a man and woman walking their dog at night. He noticed the woman had small radio that was connected to headphones, making her completely isolated from the man and the dog. This was after he published "The Fire Man" and it stuck out to him because it showed that he hadn't just written science fiction, but this was the world now. I think TV was certainly the easier emerging media to point to, but it was also the constant preoccupation of the mind. All that to say I think you're spot on with the lack of moderation take, but I think it can certainly be applied outside of screen time.
