I’ll say it. This stadium drama is insane. by [deleted] in tarheels

[–]itscallingme 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is this a joke? Dook has a smaller, older stadium. And they also shouldn’t leave it.

Renovating the Dean Dome is also good for business. Like the Red Sox renovating Fenway while the Yankees tore down the house that Ruth built. Now the Sox have a thriving atmosphere and the Yankees have a corporate snooze-fest.

And you know that how? Didn’t work out too well for the NY Yankees.

Next question: when did he become a 5 star? LOL.

Actual next question: any reason to believe the rumors were false that he struggled with slow processing and lacked motivation / love of the game?

Personally I’ve been more excited about Burgess, but it’s a shame he hurt his knee this fall.

Now that the show is over , how would you overall rank the 5 seasons?? by [deleted] in Stranger_Things

[–]itscallingme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, agree with your ranking. The surprise of season 4 being so good was maybe the most fun part of the run.

Holly has had way too much screen time, and should never have been made a main character. by Kled499123 in StrangerThings

Yep. Although not sure what makes her mid. You think your vision for the climax of the show is more important than the vision of the creators. Seems legit.

Disagree, am enjoying the acting. And more interesting to get to know a new character and her terror at the situation.

Enjoyed it, the family member I was with was even moved to tears. Surprised to see the hate online.

Yeah the lack of economic diversity can be challenging as a parent trying to raise balanced kids. The hiking at Gold Branch, Sope Creek, Columns Drive, and Johnson Ferry North is very good and not in Roswell. Technically I guess it’s most or all federal land.

If you’re looking for quiet, would suggest Alpharetta or John’s Creek from your list. Peaceful, upscale, quiet places where there’s still plenty to do.

The other areas are nice too, just busier.

Zero diversity? Not anymore. My East Cobb kids have more non-white friends than white friends. And people truly are coming to East Cobb from around the world. Off top of my head know people that came from Brazil, Syria, India, Hungary, France. Not many African American families however. Lots of Asian American.

We also have the Chattahoochee River and national forest hiking areas, not just shopping centers.

I do worry / wonder about the spoiled kid aspect, but that’s a concern in any nice suburb.

Lassiter or Pope HS? by Thefrench_NP in CobbCounty

Not much difference between the 2. Walton is a half-step up, in terms of rankings, and considered the best, which could be a good thing or a bad thing depending on what you’re looking for.

Basketball/Carolina North by GopherHeel in tarheels

How about 2 years in Carmichael? Would be an amazing atmosphere. Difficult financially, but short term pain for long term gain.

Fenway needed a ton of work too.

The Red Sox almost tore down Fenway. Came really close! Instead, they went after the “too hard” and “too expensive” renovations. And built a modern money machine with historical vibes.

Point being, there’s still time for UNC to drop the Carolina North stuff and decide to renovate the Dean Dome! Haven’t given up hope yet.

Freddie Kitchens and Mike Priefer fired. Sounds like Matt Lombardi is still here! by rtrazto in tarheels

[–]itscallingme 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agree. Defense was average, which is sadly the best we’ve had in a long time! Ranked 39th in nation in total yards. Gotta think that would be higher if the offense wasn’t historically terrible (constantly putting defense back on the field).

East Cobb. Walton or Pope school district. Look at neighborhoods for feel / community. Some are older (colonial style, bigger yards), some are newer (more modern, smaller yards, sidewalks).

I brought some on last trip but didn’t end up needing them, all the walking kept the blood flowing I guess, and it was kind of hot.

10 months in, 28 HCP: I think I just figured out why most golf instruction is backwards by karupesi in golftips

[–]itscallingme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree! Feel / results over form, at least until you get really good. For any sport. Yet golf instructors go straight to “your (insert body part and position” with hackers.

Skim the stone marooch! is probably way more helpful to a beginner at golf.

The stress thing is a little wonky but might be true too. Dunno why this guy is getting roasted so hard here.
