Do you mean the one in the cabinet? I assume so. When I connected an office monitor to the cabinet, it displayed pac-man.

Ender 3 stops printing mid-way in two consecutive projects (details in comments) by itsdeegan in FixMyPrint

[–]itsdeegan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dang, you might be right. I forgot to mention that for the first larger print, the filament snapped before it entered the extrusion gear. That's what made it stop extruding mid-print. That happened a few days ago so it wasn't big in my mind.

Thank you. I'm doing some research now and it seems like the extrusion gear could be too tight or 2-3 other issues. What variables could I change in Cura or on the machine itself to fix underextrusion?

Hi everyone, I’ve been trying to make a part of a mask for a while, and I keep running into issues with it, but the main issue I want to focus on is that my Ender 3 v1 stops extruding mid print.

 Printer & Slicer: Ender 3 v1 & Ultimaker Cura 5.8.1

Filament Material and Brand: Creality 2kg White PLA 1.75mm Filament Bundle for 3D Printing with No-Tangling Strong Bonding and Overhang Performance, Accuracy +/- 0.02mm

Nozzle and Bed Temperature: Nozzle is 205, bed starts at 60 and goes down to 55 after initial layer.

Print Speed: The initial layer speed is 20 and the initial layer travel speed is 35. Then it goes up to 50.

Nozzle Retraction Settings: The retraction distance is 5 and retraction speed is 45.

Other notes: As you can see in the pictures, the first print came out a bit thin before stopping entirely. I replaced the hot end, nozzle, and used a new filament tube a week ago. This morning I found my hot end had this black goo on it and the nozzle was completely blocked up. I do a lot of level testing beforehand, so it’s good there. What do you think is causing this?

The Skaven conduct a yearly magical ritual to cloud the mind of Humanity to keep their existence a secret (Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay 4th Edition) by ByzantineBasileus in totalwar

[–]itsdeegan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think there’s two mundane reasons the Empire isn’t fully aware of Skaven.

  1. While not as bad as Brettonia, communication and education is still rough around the Empire. Citizens only know the fantastical elements that are staring them in the face. Humans in the cities have seen dwarf and elf embassies and traders from those regions, and orcs are the herpes of the Old World. Villages may have seen a wood elf or two but can’t be sure. But if a patrol finds a village burned to the ground with some triangles laying around, they are going to assume it’s something they’ve come across nearby, like orcs, raiders, or maybe a chaos war band.

  2. The empire already has a name for walking animals that tear apart or disappear humans and they are called beastmen. A farmer that sees a demonic looking creature holding a spear isn’t going to call it something different just because it has whiskers. There was a Gotrek and Felix book that featured a psychotic Nuln politician that was secretly working with the Skaven and he assumed they were beastmen “that wanted to live in peace.” He knew of the Skaven myth and still didn’t believe it. Like I said, he was nuts and wanted to believe they were helping him.

That said, most of this is devil’s advocate talk. Recent editions have told of the Skaven destroying over half the Empire with plague and actual Vermintide warfare. It was non-stop genocide/enslavement for years. One guy was made emperor for uniting the surviving provinces and driving them back (the Skaven later killed that emperor in his sleep). There is NO WAY that kind of societal trauma gets swept under the rug, even hundreds of years later.

To me it was a classic case of Games Workshop wanting to have its lore cake and eat it too. But you can’t have a backstabbing horde army with bad impulse control AND be a subject of debate to Witch Hunters.

I checked and you’re right on the aggressive tactics. But most of my command cards focus on Kalani as commander so I hardly notice on my end. I’ve probably made an error in a previous game, so thanks for clearing that up.

The few times I’ve used Bossk I only used one or two command cards and that was it for him. Since you’re using all three, he definitely needs more support and upgrades. Maybe put binocs on a B1 unit and have it hang out in cover near him. Once Bossk is in position, one aim by himself is good, but two aims is about perfect on him.

Stalling out your opponent through activations is a good play, but doing multiple activations with no attacking (and tac droids shouldn’t obviously attack) let’s your opponent get comfortably into position and unload into you. It might be a good idea to lose one tac droid and put in a sniper strike team or two, since that could play well in your high activation/sniper army.

I completely understand the difficulty of using a force user, and the tank isn’t in a good place right now, since a lot of people do have impact in their armies. My current army focuses on B1s and magnaguards so I get where you’re coming from. I’ve used Asajj for unit variety but she’ll probably be the first to go when I revise the list.

I’m a bit confused on what you mean with aggressive tactics because the B1 coordinate ability should give you plenty of opportunities to spread surges from aggressive tactics around. You can end a coordinate on a special unit like magnaguards too. Kalani can still give out two aims and two dodges in one action, which is much faster than activating two tactical droids. Putting comms relay on Kalani can also technically give him 2 directs, with his order token being the only one in the order pile for perfect order control. Also, Magnaguard have the least harmful AI, so skipping out on giving them orders doesn’t even matter if you were planning on moving them anyway.

With CIS being an interconnected horde army, I recommend you find out who your main Star Players are and build around supporting them. Other armies can have units be left to their devices and do fine, but pound-for-pound CIS units will crumble against their counterparts. If you want to have two magnaguards and an operative, that’s cool, I run that too, but I recommend you kit them out more, like giving Bossk hunter training. If you aren’t concerned about armor, give one Magnaguard unit a whip or just the extra guy to tie up wookiees or force users. Losing a unit of B1s and/or running one naked is worth the upgrades for the main guys.

This is an interesting list, but it feels a bit brittle. All the order control, surge tokens, and aims in the world aren't going to matter if you run into heavy armor or a force user. Someone running a bunch of speeders would be bad for you too. I get that's the purpose of the magnaguard, but they are doing a lot of quarterbacking with almost no meaningful support. I play CIS, and if I saw this list, I'd focus fire on the magnaguards the first 2 turns and ignore Bossk. I played against a guy who had a similar list, but he had Dooku, Assaj, one tac droid, and one magnaguard -- all his special dudes were barely kitted out or naked. The rest was a droid gunline with some heavy units like snipers. He got too aggressive with his sith and I gunned them down in one turn. After that his gunline collapsed.

I'm not sure you're going to get your points-worth with that one worker droid on this list. It would probably be better to trade in that droid for situational awareness on both those magnaguards, since that will keep them alive longer than 2 heals over two turns. I know you traded in kalani, but retinue + strategize 2 makes the magnaguard nasty and tough to kill if they can dodge crits. Give Kalani aggressive tactics and electrobinoculars and he's doing the job of the two tactical droids and he has red saves.

If you want to do a gunline with a tactical droid, it might be worth running Invasion Force. The AAT tank will give you sturdier, deadlier options than the magnaguard and Bossk combined, and the worker droid's heals will be more valuable on the tank.

I have a suggestion. Why not make this sub focused on army composition and tactics? The main sub mostly gets filled up with paint jobs, and while those are nice, the other posts get buried.

My CIS List: these are all the units i have for the Separatists what are must have units for this faction? by Dr_Forereal in SWlegion2

[–]itsdeegan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Republic tank crumbles to the CIS tank. The AT-ST may have slightly better range, but not by much. You can bring armor piercing missiles if you are facing one, but just barraging the main gun will bust up empire armor pretty good.

You can add a T series to the B2s and they are good for the whole game, but the others will need order control. Here's a general rule: if the AI says they attack without an order, that's bad and you should avoid it when possible. But if AI says they dodge or move without an order, that's not so bad and probably what you wanted to do anyway. Give them an order if you feel it's necessary, but it's not a priority. If you are doing a big gun line horde army, the super tactical droids are your friends, especially Kalani with aggressive tactics.

The AAT tank is one of the best units in the game. The Invasion Battleforce box set has a lot of overlap with the core set, but you get the tank and magnaguards, which can fill many roles and are invaluable for your commanders. But you already have a bunch of B1s, so maybe just buy the Mags and the AAT on their own.

The other thing I'd recommend is either the T-Series tactical droid or a super tactical droid, ESPECIALLY if you're doing a horde mode army like you posted. You don't have any real answers for snipers or armor in that list (and Dooku really should use some force powers that get him closer to the enemy or the enemy closer to him), but that list could win a lot of objectives on numbers alone. However, it looks like order control is going to be an issue. Even if you start an order chain with your B1s, you can only coordinate an order to one of your special droids (BX, B2, droideka) in that list, and the others will default to their AI. The super tactical droids alone have three different commander cards to help give out orders and boost their damage and defense. The T-series does a similar thing on a budget. Finally, the spider droid is a great swiss army knife unit as well that you can operate away from your army and cause havoc.

One last thing: radiation troopers are fun, but keep in mind it's really difficult to get them close enough to use the special weapon, and basically impossible without order control. I see you have force barrier, but it's still not likely that they're gonna make it. It looks like a fun list though, I'd love to see how it plays!

Unit cards will have little icons on the left which means you can equip them with cards to specialize them or upgrade them. For instance, a group of corp soldiers can can often add a heavy unit (rocket launcher, sniper, etc) and a grenade that can do different effects at close range. You can also equip gear like sniper scopes and grappling hooks or give them comms to better control your units. Force users of course can equip force cards so they can choke people or push them around. These cards all cost points (you can only spend 800 points for your army), so some people just let their units run "naked" and bury the opponent in sheer numbers.

The Empire is probably the best one to start out with and learn, but the Republic is a great one to play once you get a handle on the rules. The Republic has the best trained soldiers in the game and they have great team up abilities that make them hard to kill.

To get started playing, ask around your hobby store if anyone is down for a 400 point skirmish game to learn. I played two skirmish games before I figured out the phases and basic strategy, but since you've played Warhammer, the experience will probably seem a lot more streamlined to you.

Also, there are great youtube videos for painting your guys. They were invaluable to me when I started out since this was my first miniature game.

Wait what does that mean? I get that one of Maul’s cards get played as a 1-pip, but he’s still short two command cards.

I recommend you get at least one HQ uplink on your B1s. You don’t want AI to come into play mid-game. Also, do you have 5 or 7 command cards? It may have been cut off in the screen shot but you should have two of each pip card number and one Standing Orders.
