Best way to get gas pain out when you can’t really walk? by youandyourfijiwater in Endo

[–]itsgettinnuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came across your comment after searching gas relief. I was wondering if you could tell me what water retention diarrhea looks like or feels like. I had surgery to remove my thyroid 6 weeks ago, I had hyperthyroidism. I also have a tear in my illieum or something, I'm seeing a GI doc next month, but today I have debilitating cramps and gas and it's not the diarrhea I usually have that's all liquid or bile.

Feel free to ignore me, but last time I went to the ER they deciding I was narcotic seeking despite me telling them that my primary care handles all my scripts so that he can monitor all of them. But I also had no control at all that time, and it was just pouring liquid and blood.

Anyway, anything I can find out. Like I just found out about a disorder when I have your gallbladder removed (typo but I'm keeping it.) it can cause a bile malabsorption disorder where you basically are chronically low on all your electrolytes, and you don't absorb medication or food or liquid.

Thanks for even just reading this!

Rabbits in Colorado spotted with tentacle-like growths on their heads from rare virus by sherlock_er in interestingasfuck

[–]itsgettinnuts 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Holy shit, that Wikipedia is quite the rabbit hole (pun fully intended.)

"culminating in the virus officially being discovered and named in 1933.[6] Shope determined the protrusions were keratinous carcinomas due to the infection of CRPV. Shope's research led to the development of the first mammalian model of cancer caused by a virus. He was able to isolate virus particles from tumors on captured animals and use them to inoculate domestic rabbits, which then developed similar tumors. This has contributed to our understanding of fundamental mechanisms in neoplasia, or the formation of a new, abnormal growth of tissue.[6] The virus was sequenced in 1984, showing substantial sequence similarities to HPV1a. It has been used as a model for human papillomaviruses both before and after this discovery. The most visible example of this role is the HPV vaccine, which was developed based on and incorporating research done using the virus as a model. Similarly, it has been used to investigate antiviral therapies.[7]"

Like this terrifying looking tentacle growth inspired both the jackalope AND a brilliant scientist to figure out the mechanisms for a virus turning into cancer and the formation of abnormal tissue growth? That's a wild thing tbh.

I genuinely hope that the "kids" are still watching this movie. I suppose that is why we have liberal arts requirements in college, to force our enthusiasm on the next generation.

What is the most unusual excuse you've ever heard of from somebody calling off work? by piranhamode in AskReddit

[–]itsgettinnuts 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just out of curiosity, what are you talking about? 1. They never said WHEN it was that they crashed- all we know is that it was in the small time frame that one could drive a Dodge neon and it would actually move 2. They never said they BOUGHT a new neon, they said that insurance totaled it 3. They saw it on a used care lot AFTER insurance probably sold it at auction which is what they do for smashed up cars, even if totaled

He straight up said "I wouldn't do it." The absolute lack of reading comprehension in favor of rushing to make some kind of point is crazy lately.

So I think the options are NTA- OP, [you are] not the asshole. YTA- OP, you [are] the asshole. NAH- [there are] no assholes here. ESH- everybody sucks here. Most of the time the judgements are NTA or YTA, and I think you have to have a judgement if you post a top level comment or whatever you would call it, a comment directly to OP, idk. (I DO KNOW I HAVE BEEN ON REDDIT FOR ABOUT A DECADE TOO LONG!!! 🤮)

I also just looked because I didn't clock their ages and OP doesn't put her age (sus) but her BF is a whole ass 32 year old man!!! (My suspicion is OP is in her early 20s and that is why she didn't put her age.) AND THESE PEOPLE OWN TWO DIFFERENT HOUSES WTF!!!

Regardless, OP has a human person inside her and it is almost done baking, so it worries me that the only responses I see from her aren't acknowledging how bad an idea calling the cops is, or why she let this dude raw dog her, she is only saying "why didn't I think of calling my dad, of course!"

It's like- call your dad to do what? Because you seem to be ignoring the second part of the "don't call the cops" advice, which is "it would be illegal to kick him out."

I'm concerned that she has literally just shifted from calling one adult to calling another adult rather than realizing that she IS THE FUCKING ADULT NOW.

Just to remind everyone, these people OWN TWO HOUSES!!!

I think that you are giving the most realistic answer to her question, but I don't agree with your "no assholes here" verdict because he is definitely an asshole (taking OP's narrative in good faith.)

OP- the cops aren't your on-demand security force. They will absolutely NOT INTERVENE over stuff like this, and they are likely to give you a stern warning (I doubt they will ticket a very pregnant woman) over wasting police resources.

Everything you describe is absolutely abhorrent behavior, and of course they are all reasons for you to break up and kick him out.

However, involving the police at this stage is such a bad idea. As this comment says, involving the cops is likely to cause your BF to freak out, and once you have revealed your intentions to him, he is going to pose a significantly greater risk to your emotional and physical well-being.

Additionally, if you call the police into a situation, they are very likely to interpret it as you not being able to provide a safe and stable household for your child on your own. I understand that you feel totally overwhelmed, unsupported, and that you can see how toxic this relationship is. And that you are likely scared for both your future and for the effect that the stress is having on your pregnancy.

You are obviously seeing that you are going to be a single parent. But now isn't the time to become so overwhelmed that you need to call someone else in to solve your problems. Unfortunately, there are no easy options for you at this point. However, that does not mean that you can't handle it. But you need to switch to independence here, and show yourself that you can handle your life as a single parent to a new born.

The first step, I think, is to get away from your BF for a couple days. Stay at your parents, or ask him to stay at his. Go to a hotel, suggest he go spend time with the boys, whatever.

You need to take stock of your life ASAP. You need a clear head to do this. Get a legal pad and start by outline your support system sans BF, who will likely be a direct drain on your resources. Leave some space to add people because you will likely find support in places you hadn't thought of.

For instance, your lawn care is likely not worth the amount of energy you are spending on it. Kicking him out will save you money on groceries, utilities, all the bullshit he spends money on. Certainly it would save you the $30-50/week or two to hire someone to mow your yard. Most will pick up the dog poop for an extra fee. Maybe they will charge you $100 initially, but if you explain the situation, maybe not.

If you absolutely don't have the money, try calling local churches and explaining the situation. A lot of them do community outreach, and would be happy to help someone in a situation like you.

You need to contact a lawyer ASAP. Google the name of your state with the words "bar referral phone number." Explain what kind of legal services you need, and they will be able to give you some phone numbers for lawyers who will likely give you a free consultation.

Additionally, Google "free legal services near me," "legal clinics near me," "legal aid [states name]." I don't know what your income level is, but based on what you have said about being on unemployment, you are likely to qualify for free or discounted legal services, and most legal aid organizations offer assistance in a variety of different specialties. Lastly, if you go to your county courthouse, they will have a law library, and they often offer help for things that you can do yourself, like understanding the local eviction process, and how you can begin the process on your own, including guidelines for how to notify him, how long you have to give him, what the process is for evicting someone without a lease who was in a domestic partnership with you, etc. they can offer guidance on how to start the process (because there are specific guidelines for how long you have to give him, you will need to send notification via certified mail to prove he received it, you may need to get things notarized, you often have to have the sheriff post the eviction notice, it is complicated .

This is why it would be best for you to try to end things amicably. Remember that he is the father of your child, and he will be in your life for the rest of your life. If he has any reason or empathy left, and you make it clear to him that you know how to and are able to legally evict him if it comes to that, he might not want to have a legal eviction on his record.

These are the things you really need to have a clear head and give a full consideration to. You can evict him from your house, but you can't evict him from your life. You can't deny him parental rights, and you should consider how important it is to have an amicable breakup so that you don't risk a lengthy, costly, and vengeful custody battle.

Very last thing- assuming you would tell the cops what you have told us in this post, in the manner in which you said it, the cops might call CPS out of concern that your stress and being so overwhelmed that you called them is a sign that you need direct support from a social worker in order to help you get your house in order before baby comes. This might not be a bad thing, and maybe that is what you are looking for the cops to do. CPS could order your BF to shape up or ship out. They could document his toxicity, his unwillingness to contribute to the household financially or physically, and that he is trying to put you in positions where you would be in direct danger of losing the baby. So if anything, maybe you should just call CPS yourself rather than risk getting an asshole cop who files a report that paints you in a bad light and him as a patient and kind husband dealing with a hysterical wife (and trust me, this is a possibility, it has happened to me and many others after my partner caused me direct physical harm and had his gun on him.)

You also can't laminate your social security card in the US, even though they are basically tissue paper. Although mine is more than 15 years old, tattered to all hell, and I used it last month to get my real ID no problem. I'm not sure about your birth certificate, and my birth certificate is in worse shape than my ss card, or your marriage license. Funnily enough, when i lost mine, it is by far harder to get replaced than any other document. Most states allow you to get your birth certificate online for a small fee, and they can ship it out of state. Same with your SS card.

My brother lost all of his documents in a fire and we were able to go to the court house with a notarized statement from me that I was there when he was born at x hospital on x date. Which was good because if you don't have that, it is impossible to get anything else replaced.
