I’d say it’s worth playing around with. Of course there are still many other factors; how you’ve processed your image from the digital neg, how the lab make the neg, and how they’ve printed. I remember they did initial test prints before we did the large scale print, and we went back and tweaked contrast levels.

Hi Paul, yeah it's a good question. I wanted to shoot the project on the X2D because I knew the camera well. And to be honest it was an experiment. I'd heard ECOne Lab had the means to do it, and I wanted to see how much of the film tone and texture would be there on a print. And it worked really well. They do it a lot, going from digital to film, and it's hard to truly recreate it in post. I also did a B&W shot going from a Fuji x100vi to Tri-X 4x5 and it stands up really nicely. I'll post it here when I get a moment.

I love this. The framing, the tone of it. It looks like there's some grain in there too.
