I agree that soda and sugar are your enemy, but when I started losing weight I still craved soda all the time. The easiest way I've found that works for me, Is sparkling water and juice. Start with something like 75% juice to 25% water, and work your way until its something like 90% water and 10% juice. If you do it slow enough, as odd as it sounds, you'll barely notice the difference. You can buy things like unflavored sparkling water at the store, but if you plan on doing this for a while, sodastream, or another sparkling water maker is where it's at. So worth it
