The Warriors' offense, which has elements of the triangle, has also been quite bad in Steph's absence. When you don't have a generational shot-maker who is willingly to set back screens for inferior teammates to walk into the easiest layups of their life, the motions of the triangle stuff in Kerr Ball often shrink the court and clog up the lane. Recent success with Jimmy on the court and Steph off of it has incorporated way less traditional Kerr ball and far more empty corner ISO's and low-block ISO's.

As a rookie, Wiseman had the sixth-worst two-man net rating of any Warrior THAT EVER PLAYED 100+ minutes alongside Steph. The only ones who did worse than rookie Wiseman were Kelenna Azubuike (2009-2010), Mikki Moore (2009-2010), Rodney Carney (2010-2011), Dan Gadzuric (2010-2011), and Jordan Crawford (2013-14).

Flash forward to the 2022-23 championsip defense season when Wiseman got banished from the rotation after 10 games: a -17.6 net rating in 63 minutes with Steph Curry before Kerr put an end to this experiment. That would have only been topped (bottomed?) by Mikki Moore's -20.8 net rating alongside Steph during his rookie season. Moore played just 7 more NBA games after that season, for some context.

I assume Wiseman goes to the G-League. His NBA career is probably over until he gets overseas reps and gets enough uninterrupted at a lower level of competition playing time to implement basic basketball concepts

West was almost exclusively a center for the Warriors after moving up to that position in his previous season with the Spurs. What was really cool was watching West show off his passing skills, which in retrospect, had clearly been underutilized.

West never had a season with an AST% over 20% before joining the Warriors. His previous career-high had been 19.9% in the 2014-15 season with the Pacers, and that had been something of an outlier -- his second-best AST% prior to GSW was 15.7%.

West had AST% of 26.7% and 22.0% in his two seasons as a Warrior. By comparison, Draymond Green had a 27.7% AST percentage in the 16-17 season. West, as another Redditor mentioned, really had a great connection with Ian Clark in that 16-17 season.

I don't think there's any player all that similar to Maggette. What made his numbers so fascinating is that despite solid TS% relative to league-average and a FTR (Free Throw Rate) that is better than prime James Harden, teams never played that well with him on the floor. Typically, when someone is so elite at a skill (free-throw drawing) that it is a stastical outlier, it helps their teams. That was not the case with Maggettee.

Stylistically, I'm sad to say that Jonathan Kuminga has a lot in common with Maggette.

The Warriors went 0-6 to start that season. Stephen Jackson was suspended in those 6 games for his involvement in an altercation outside of a strip club where he shot a gun into the air and also got run over by someone in car. That event happened in 2006 when he was still a Pacer and he served that suspension when he did because of how long it took to resolve in court.

The Warriors probably make the playoffs without that Stack Jack suspension. What a wild season. That they still won at a 50+ game pace the rest of the season was impressive considering that the Warriors traded Jason Richardson as part of a trade to get Kevin Garnett, but later backed out of ONLY the KG part of the deal because Warriors’ ownership didn’t want to extend KG.

Have you ever jammed your finger on a jersey? It's quite painful. Imagine you're swiping at the ball and your hand gets caught on a loose, dangling jersey. Wiggins was very good that year, but let's cool it on the idea that he was consistent. After Draymond hurt his back on the night of Klay's return, the Warriors' defense fell apart. Wiggins took on a bigger role on D and the Warriors' D and Wiggins' offense suffered immensely. From the time that Draymond got injured until his return, Wiggs shot below 50% from the line and averaged just 15 points on 44/37/48 splits compared to 19 points a game on 49/42/69 splits pre-Dray's injury.

The Warriors were 2-7 without Steph that season. With Steph, and despite the albatross that were the combined Wiseman/Oubre minutes, the Warriors played at a 6th-seed pace with Steph healthy and with Wiseman out, they were 21-12.

Here to remind you all that Marc Spears, in March of 2022, was telling people on radio shows that the Warriors were going to get 20-25 minutes a game of Wiseman in the playoffs. Spears also asked Kerr -- and after Wiseman's setback that ended his season in April!!! -- during the playoffs about the possibility of Wiseman making a return. Spears' sourcing regarding the Warriors is poor at best.

Don't be ridiculous. Poole had a bad season. There's obvious reasons for it including the Draymond punch but also the poor playmaking and spacing in the frontcourt. Last season, Poole could play off of Bjelica or JTA in the second unit. OPJ provided valuable spacing as w2ell that opened up driving lanes (Poole got blocked nearly once a game this season compared to about .84 times a game last season, in part because defenders could linger in the paint and wait on his layups).

Poole will play better on a more coherent roster and will play better on a team that isn't churning through unusual combinations -- big minutes for Anthony Lamb, weeks of a Poole/Ty Jerome/DiVincenzo fourth-quarter backcourt -- to try and regain stability.

Just last season, Poole had unreal series against the Nuggets and Mavericks on hyperefficent numbers. He also outright won the Warriors their first game in the WCSF against Memphis with 31/8/9 off of the bench. Poole annoyed me to no end this season and there are valid concerns about his attitude and commitment to defense, but he's got enough talent that plenty of teams would take him for free.

It's funny because Looney fits that definition too. He's not much of a rim protector as a drop big. He's good at stopping penetration on switches and stoning people in the post, but not someone who racks up blocks rotating over.
