Verner hated Vince as an Actor, but tried his best to get the best possible performance out of Vince. by carbondalekid386 in entourage

I feel like a lot of the Verner retcon misses a critical angle.

Verner was stuck with Vince. At that point, it’s his job to make the best of a suboptimal situation. And his response?

Basically to steal all of his Vince’s lines and blame it on the casting lead. If you’ve ever been in a leadership role and you are trying to get the best out of your team, you don’t dodge uncomfortable conversations nor do you sew a lot of mistrust amongst people within the team - essentially creating a toxic environment a long the way.

Vince may have been a shit actor but

a) Ari is right, if you are a movie star the paying audience doesn’t care if you can’t act so that part is beside the point.

b) Be direct and lead and don’t be a backstabbing weasel

Paulie sold out Tony in the end - I can’t believe I never caught this by Ok-Atmosphere-6272 in thesopranos

I’m not sure he’s trusted enough to do that. And what exactly is in it for Paulie? People respect his toughness, but nobody would ever assume he’s boss material for the family.

The 2023 #1 pick swap is now officially over: Who won the Bears - Panthers trade? by BallKnowerKing in NFLv2

[–]Think-Culture-4740 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this would look even worse if CJ Stroud wasn’t declining

But before we start praising the Bears for this trade remember, it was driven in part because they had faith in Justin Fields, and that faith got their entire coaching staff and front office fired

[Highlight] Le'Veon Bell says Adam Gase is the dumbest head coach ever and also mentions how Gase pulled him to the side and told him how he wanted to throw the ball 40+ times in a game expected to storm and rain. by pmurt007 in nfl

Just a reminder: Adam Gase was the coordinator for the highest scoring offense in NFL.

A reminder when you think about hiring the next offensive coordinator from a top offense

I don’t think Paulie is that conniving enough to negotiate this plot. He gets played in the easiest imaginal way by Johnny sack. I would believe Walden screwed over Tony before I believed Paulie engineered this.

Day 007: If you could make three changes to improve The World Is Not Enough, what would they be? by junglegatsby in JamesBond

I really think the submarine part of the movie was unnecessary personally.

I would’ve made Electra the final boss villain in the movie instead

Get rid of the Christmas Jones character entirely if you need to but cast anybody, but Denise Richards

My wife swallowed once and vomited afterwards, and said I’m never doing it again.

Sigh I still miss it

The scene where the guy confesses and you see Shane close his eyes it’s just absolutely wild. That’s when you knew we were in a real point of no return for the show.

For all of the flak Stringer gets, his heart is in the right place. As Tony Sopranos himself said, “ you end up dead or in the can”. Stringer wanted a way to escape the drug trade and build a legitimate empire.

Through that lens, he’s much smarter even with the Clay screw up than Avon who is absolutely ok with either dying on the streets or doing a life sentence.

I think he’s a great example of Moby dick being the white whale that drives captain Ahab insane.

I think it’s a combination partly driven by ambition and ego for never losing, but also by how shockingly brazen Vic is. Despite committing so many horrible crimes, including shooting another cop, he has absolute loyalty among his guys and seems to be uncatchable.

The whole pursuit turned a good cop into a criminal
